Great location and welcoming hosts!

Most recent reviews for this guesthouse appear to be on booking.com rather than on TripAdvisor, as at September 2025. However, I booked directly with the hosts after a recommendation from someone I met.
Both of the hosts do now speak English! They are extremely welcoming and very hospitable. I was also greatly assisted by them with my registration of arrival in Azerbaijan, just before the 15 day deadline expired!
Whilst the bedrooms do not have private bathrooms (which is normally something I’d prefer), there are three shared bathrooms to use, so it never became an issue during my stay.
Definitely recommended!

Lovely family and excellent value

Pros:
Absolutely lovely family. Although the parents don’t speak English the son does a decent rough translation. They invited me to eat lunch with them which was wonderful as they are vegetarian as well! Also breakfast is included. The location is only a 15 minute walk from karavansay and a 20-minute walk to the fortress. The home is on an uphill pebble and stone walk so keep note. The son also kindly carried my knapsack for me. I love that shoes are not allowed inside (like my household).
Cons:
The bathroom situation is rustic. All rooms share an outdoor toilet and a separate shower facility. Whilst very clean the sewer smell from the squat toilet next to the western toilet gave off a rank sewer smell by the AM. The WiFi is also mediocre at best.

A nice home stay in Sheki

A nice family run bed and breakfast. Not so far from any tourist attractions and a bus terminal in town. The house is huge and has a lovely garden where hosts farm fresh vegetables and fruits. They also keep cute dogs and a herd of sheep (surprisingly) in the backyard. It’s like a farm house in the middle of town. The hosts are very friendly family and welcoming us. They resides on the house and always care about guests and offer us a pot of tea when we are back, even while they are farming hard in the garden! If you want to experience local lives with a local family, this is the stay for you.
It’s a bit hard to find the house .The location shown on google map was not accurate so I revised it later ;). We are coming but had to stroll around a while to find a lovely small street up to the house. Thanks to a very kind old gentleman who just passed by us and navigated us all the way to the house

Lovely Family and so clean

This is a basic guesthouse where you are sharing with this very lovely family. They really want to make you feel welcome. I am very happy here. The owner makes delicious food for dinner and for breakfast. It’s not luxurious, but it is clean and comfortable and friendly. One reviewer mentioned the outdoor restroom. There is also a spotlessly clean indoor restroom as well.

A fantastic guest house

A fantastic guest house in the old town of Seki, and a 10-minute walk to the former palace. The host family is very friendly and welcoming and proud of their guesthouse. The son seems to be the businessman, speaking very good English, while the rest of the family is very friendly and welcoming. Tea on arrival and a super breakfast in the morning.
Our room was large, with comfortable beds. The shared bathroom was very clean.
If arriving in Seki by train, make sure you let the hosts know in advance and confirm your arrival time. The train station is 17km outside of the city and there may not be any taxis available when you arrive. The hosts will happily arrange a taxi for you and kindly collected us from our train at midnight! There is no public transport to or from the train station.
