Be prepared if you go
The next morning the owner finally responded saying her phone was out where she is, wherever that is which is why she didn't respond day before. I told her about Renaldo not responding to us and in the light of day I did see she had two small lanterns by the door (one working) that I wish Renaldo (the freeloader there) would have mentioned to us. We honestly didn't notice them previously because they were folded up. Or if he would have called to our attention, if he would have responded to my text or answered his door. And of course she, for whatever reason also wasn't responding, so we were on our own.
Also we aren't spring chickens and this Renaldo guy didn't come out the morning we were leaving until 9:30 as we were leaving and he waved (grrrr). Would have been nice to have help bringing our luggage down the 30 steps!!! We didn't wave back. He's pretty useless for the most part.
So if you stay here, just know you are pretty much on your own.
Oh and the guy next door who owns "The Deck" restaurant is kinda nutty. Even though the restaurant is always empty, he will scream at you for not making a reservation and you will be lucky if he cooks you a meal. He finally agreed to cook us a burger and fish burger that both were delicious, but we had to pretty much beg him. He only offered drinks (especially his $15 drink that is loaded with ice) to everyone else that showed up.
He plays the same song over and over and over.
Good luck!

The first day, we didn’t have electricity and WiFi for a few hrs. I had a very important work meeting and it was very inconvenient and stressful. I also didn’t have any hot water throughout our stay. Taking cold showers was unpleasant.
The place was not clean as it looks in the pictures (which is actually the penthouse not our actual room). It feels like an abandoned property that has not been maintained well. The only nice thing about this place is the oceanfront view.
On our 2nd day, we woke up from an afternoon nap and was pretty much eaten alive with bed bug bites all over our bodies. I counted 50 bites, my sister had about 20. We woke up in complete panic and packed our stuff immediately. We could not find another place to stay last minute so we ended up sleeping in our rental car. I was disgusted and have never encountered an experience like this. I contacted the host to let her know we had left the property early and her response was that she was sorry this happened to us and was not offered any compensation or refund. Horrible host and property.

Great room & hope the owners address the issue before you rent
Location is gorgeous! The view is spectacular! It’s a great layout allowing beautiful views from all rooms.
However, this is not a resort. It’s 4 bungalows each with queen beds. The penthouse has a king bed, futon and a single. We were sold this penthouse for 6 adults expecting it to be suited for six adults. However, there’s one large king size bed and a standup glass shower in the middle of a room. Yes there is a pullout bed and a single bed, but you’re all in this same bedroom/bathroom together!! It’s a beautiful room but it’s like a honeymoon suite. Knowing this last minute, we were kinda forced to rent 2 more rooms (Casita #1 and Casita #2) so that we all had a bed and privacy.
Both Casitas smelled VERY musty and moldy (probably inside of the heat pump).
All of us experienced water problems. Trickling cool water. The managers attempted to address the water issue but 2 of the 3 rooms never really recovered. Intermittent water?
We hope the owners will address these issues because it has potential to be a gorgeous place to rent! If the musty/moldy smell were to be resolved we would definitely reserve these rooms in the future!
We typically don’t leave iffy reviews but you should know what you’re paying for. Enjoy Eleuthra…. Our favorite island ♥️

We’re glad you enjoyed some relaxing island time. We regret that your stay wasn’t the seamless experience we aim to provide for every guest. To help guests plan their getaway, we make it a priority to clearly describe the structure and occupancy of each room type, and the penthouse is designed to accommodate up to four adults. Photos of each accommodation are available on our website so guests can feel confident in the room they’re booking. Your feedback has been shared to ensure this information is consistently communicated. We’re also passing along your comments to our maintenance team, as a fresh and well-equipped space is essential to a great stay. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back.

Our bathroom sink drained extremely slowly, as in multiple hours. We ended up brushing our teeth in the kitchen sink for this reason. Our TV remote was not working, which should have been obvious to anyone preparing the room because the battery cover was completely missing. The TV only had a power button, so my girlfriend had to spend half an hour downloading a Roku remote phone app and figuring out how to control our TV with it. The water in the shower was not consistently hot, and both showerheads were annoying (one was a rain style one mounted directly overhead, and the other was a mounted wand but mounted too low and not height adjustable, so I had to crouch down to use it (I’m only 5’9”). And while the remote beachfront setting is stunning, its beauty was ruined at night by the very bright floodlamps mounted outside each room.
Overall this was not a bad place to stay by any means, but for what we paid, I do expect basics like hot water, a sink that drains, and a functioning TV. I would not return.
