The hotel's location was good. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean. However, the reception floor had a bad smell, and because there was no air conditioning in the rooms, it was very hot. If you're traveling in the summer, it's a good idea to keep this in mind.

UNTRUSTWORTHY, DANGEROUS, FILTHY, UNINVITING. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
If you are thinking about booking A&O Antwerpen Centraal, do yourself a favour and don’t. This place is a complete WASTE OF SPACE and people need to be warned.
The main issue was genuinely the worst thing I ever experienced at a property in my LIFE.
On March 5th, despite having a confirmed booking from March 4th to 8th, I returned from lunch to find maintenance and cleaning staff inside my room with all of my belongings taken, stuffed into black bags, and being carried out. My locker had been forced open and broken where my personal and expensive items were stored. When I confronted them, they aggressively argued that I should have checked out earlier because I was “with a group”. This was completely false. They refused to listen and doubled down instead of apologizing.
I had to physically find and take my belongings back from them. I then went straight to reception in floods of tears. The only positive in this entire experience was one receptionist called Mariam, who helped move me to a smaller room. Every other staff member I encountered was rude, dismissive, and completely untrustworthy. I genuinely believe that if I had not walked in at that exact moment, my belongings could have been stolen or destroyed.
I was trapped here as I could not afford another place to stay and the whole city was booked out.
Before this even happened, my first room already felt unsafe and inappropriate. It appeared that the hostel was housing asylum seekers or homeless individuals alongside tourists. People were cooking in the bathroom on portable stoves and asking me if I lived there too. It was uncomfortable for me and honestly dehumanizing for them. This is not a safe or appropriate environment for anyone involved. DISGRACEFUL.
The facilities are awful. There is no breakfast, a bar and restaurant that never seemed to open, and no real common area. Just a dirty room with a broken pool table and nowhere to sit. There is no space to relax, no place to meet people, and nowhere to even wait comfortably for check in. It completely defeats the purpose of staying in a hostel.
The rooms are filthy. There was rubbish left behind from previous guests, dust everywhere, and generally poor hygiene. The bedding is uncomfortable and you have to make it yourself. The bathrooms were even worse. One toilet and shower setup for a large dorm, constantly wet floors, visible dirt, and people cooking in there which is completely unacceptable.
The only positive is the location. That is it.
This place is terrible value for money. No one should be paying to stay here. I only ended up here as a last minute option and regret it completely. If I could give negative stars, I would.
I have submitted a formal complaint to Booking.com to try to get my money back, and the property is ignoring it. That says everything about how they operate. They are clearly hoping to avoid responsibility and continue treating guests like this.
Avoid this place at all costs and I will be taking this further.

bike stolen because christine ordered it to be parked outside or at the station
the receptionist ordered me in a cold manner that I cannot put my bike at this hostel but I inquired and it is completely false! my bike was stolen and the only response from christine is I am not responsible, leave me alone! I lost 350 euros! Contemptuous and rude blonde woman! Avoid at all costs!

Outrageous
Christine the receptionist is a very unpleasant woman. She ordered me dryly to put my bike outside and told me to put it near the station next to the establishment. My bike was stolen. Especially with her contemptuous look. There was noise at this hotel and no way to sleep. Avoid

Good location for transit by public transport
Fine, for 18 euros you can't expect more. Creep away from the station so ideal for a night when you are passing through.
