Anniversary at Botanic
Botanic Sanctuari has become one of our top destinations, where everything from arrival to departure is taken care of down to the last detail by the team.
This beautiful old monastery has been brought to the highest level of renovation into an ultra-luxury hotel that is unparalleled, from the beautiful rooms/suites and breakfast to the fantastic Hotel Bar, SPA, and choice of gastronomic restaurants up to 2* Michelin, with a team of staff that, without exception, makes the stay of your dreams come true for you as a customer.
We have been coming here several times a year since the opening in 2022 and see that through small changes, the experience has taken a step up every time, and that is the incentive for us to return time and time again.

A monastery cell in a monastery
Price for the room: 875€ without breakfast. Small: you can just around the bed. No fresh fruit or flowers, TV hangs to the left of the bed, hardly any closet space, no decoration just a wooden panel.

Botanic Sanctuary - Fantastic stay and team
We stayed at the Botanic Sanctuary for Tomorrowland, the hotel is tranquil and beautiful but the staff is like no other. We were so well looked after and the Concierge team were so incredible providing advice and arranging our itinerary. Would highly recommend

Luxury prices, deeply disappointing service
Botanic Sanctuary Antwerp presents itself as a luxury hotel, but our experience was marked by deeply disappointing customer service. Staff were dismissive, unhelpful and at times rude.
Even more concerningly, when we disputed a charge at checkout, a hotel representative agreed to remove the amount from our bill. Yet ten minutes after we had left the property, the hotel charged that same amount to our credit card.
Luxury is ultimately about how guests are treated. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend avoiding this hotel and staying elsewhere.

The price paid was not worth it.
I had made the reservation directly with your hotel team to ensure everything would be taken care of, as my husband and I were looking forward to escaping the heatwave in Paris for a relaxing weekend.
Upon arrival, we checked into our room, which felt quite warm and stuffy. We were reassured that it would cool down shortly, so we went to dinner. Unfortunately, when we returned, the room was still uncomfortably hot.
I contacted the front desk, and the team kindly informed us that the issue would be addressed. A mobile air cooler was brought to the room to help cool it more quickly, which we appreciated. However, after going to bed, we woke up around 3:00 a.m. completely drenched in sweat. The room had become even hotter. My husband checked the unit and discovered that the mobile cooler had not been vented correctly, so it was actually trapping the heat inside the room, while the air conditioning itself was still not functioning.
We are very grateful to the technicians who came and suggested moving us to another room, which ultimately resolved the issue. The staff throughout our stay were courteous, professional, and genuinely helpful.
That said, the experience was extremely disappointing and quite unexpected for a hotel with the reputation of Botanic Sanctuary. Having to walk from one building to another in our pyjamas at 3:00 a.m. was certainly not how we had imagined spending our weekend away.
We also noticed a strong odour throughout parts of the building, which seemed to be related to humidity or possibly a drainage issue. While this may be temporary, it did affect the overall impression of the property.
Overall, we left feeling that the experience did not reflect the price we paid. Although the service provided by your team was warm and attentive, we believe the rooms would benefit from refurbishment and improved maintenance to match the standard one would expect from the hotel.
We wanted to share this feedback in the hope that it will be helpful, as we genuinely appreciated the kindness of your staff and would have loved for the accommodation itself to live up to the same standard.

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused by the insufficient cooling in your room. During the exceptional heatwave, our systems were under increased demand, but we fully recognise that this should not have affected your comfort. We also regret that the mobile cooling unit did not initially provide the intended solution, resulting in such a disruptive night and the need to move rooms in the early hours of the morning. We can only imagine how inconvenient this must have been.
At the same time, we are pleased to read that our Front Office team and technicians responded with care and professionalism, and that the room move ultimately resolved the issue. Your kind words about our colleagues are greatly appreciated, and we will be sure to share your compliments with them.
