An unexpected incompleteness.
but in hindsight, there seems to be an incompleteness:
I payed an amount of 100 euro's in advance at the counter (in case additional costs arise).
The employé on duty told me that this amount would be refunded within a week.
I haven't received anything yet!
How is that possible?
Kind regards,
J.J.F. Berndsen

Beautiful property, but needs work
However, what was missing was good quality air conditioning throughout the property - our room was uncomfortably warm, the lobby was warm, the restaurant was warm, and the bar area was also warm - this definitely took away from our enjoyment of our stay. One night we wanted to have late night drinks in the bar, but it was just too warm to sit and enjoy it. I will say we were there during a heatwave, and they have live flames in public areas as part of the decor, so I'll give them that. Although, the warmth in the guest rooms is unacceptable. The bed was great, but we did not sleep because the room was uncomfortably warm.
At the front desk, the staff weren't very friendly, welcoming, helpful, or knowledgeable about the property. We were looking to sit on the outdoor patio for a drink and snack before departing and were told there wasn't food service out there - yet the patio menu had a list of food items on it.
They also have issues with the barricade used for taxi drivers to enter and exit the area - our taxi driver couldn't get out, pressed the button several times for assistance and no one answered, so he had to go to the front desk to find someone to let him out. He said it's an ongoing problem at that location.

Thank you very much for your feedback.
We are delighted you appreciated our hotel’s elegant design and the thoughtful amenities in your room. Your praise for the bed’s comfort and the overall ambience truly warms our hearts.
It is also rewarding to know you found value in your stay and enjoyed the pristine condition of our spaces.
However, the comfort of our guests is paramount, and we apologise for the challenges with temperature regulation during the heatwave. We have shared your observations about front desk interactions and the taxi barrier access with our team to reinforce our service standards.
Nonetheless, we are thrilled you loved our central location near the Grand Place. Its proximity to Brussels’ cultural gems remains one of the highlights we take pride in offering our guests.
We look forward to the pleasure of welcoming you back on future occasions.
Best regards,
Bert Vandewaetere, General Manager
