Unpleasant experience

On Monday I sent an email asking for a reservation the following Sunday for 4 people. I mentioned that we had 2 gift cards from Tafelen in Vlaanderen.
No response on Wednesday and contacted by phone.
I was told they were on leave and I would get a confirmation on Friday.
Friday no response, evening again telephone contact . The mail was read, there was a reservation for us.
On Sunday we arrived, were unkindly directed to our table, it was set for 3 people ..
We asked about the formula of Dining in Flanders , we were told that they had not done this for a year ( although I had clearly stated this in the email ).
Treated unkindly ... we then left and dined elsewhere.

Stay away ! Extremely rude owners.

When you arrive from the parking lot of this hotel/restaurant/café, the first entrance door you encounter is closed with no sign on that door that this is not the entrance. A customer inside pointed her finger to tell us to use a door further on. The second door we encountered says entrance to hotel and restaurant. But there was a third door on the left of this second door that was nearer to where we were coming from so we tried this door first : closed. All of a sudden a woman (she turned out to be the owner afterwards) came outside and started shouting at us and calling us stupid because it should have been absolutely clear to us that we had tried the wrong doors. She kept on being very rude so we hesitated if we would go in or turn around. As we were both hungry and thirsty, we went in and just had a drink and decided to go to another place to eat. While we were sitting at a table, waiting for our drinks, the husband of the rude lady said in a loud voice to her that there are a lot of stupid people in the world that can't reed signs and that she needed to put up large arrows to lead the way. So again we were called stupid in our face. On top of that, it was very cold in this café. When we wanted to pay, we went to the bar and had to wait for the lady at the bar to fill the dishwasher before we were allowed to pay. We will never, ever set foot here again and we recommend everyone to do the same!

Tour de France 2012

We stayed here while watching the Prologue and first stage of the 2012 Tour in Liege. While it was a bit difficult to access without a car (in this case get a taxi from Hasselt), it was thoroughly enjoyable to stay here. The owners were hospitable and friendly. The food was delicious and breakfast was fresh and enjoyable. We like the personal nature of the place. The room was spacious and clean, not much in it, which seemed typically Flemish. A really nice, good-value place to stay.
