Great flat - clean and well stocked
Easy walking distance of the city, and in the other direction major supermarkets and bakery within 5 mins walk (as was the train station). Generally quiet - from traffic and other flats.

Great location, comfortable apratment, spoiled by poor quality of service
The apartment was superficially clean, but with several weeks worth of dust under the beds. Shoddy housekeeping and poor supervision.
When we were about to eat breakfast on our first morning, we discovered there was no cutlery. That evening, we discovered there was no bottle opener. Both resolved by a trip to hotel receotion, but this shouldn’t have been nececessary. Shoddy housekeeping and poor supervision.
The towels are thin (you can see through them if you hold them up to the light). Admittedly, they do provide bathrobes, but in budget hotels, I’m never confident these get laundered between guests, and certainly not when it’s so obvious housekeeping isn’t a priority.
The bottom sheets for the double bed are too small to tuck in properly, annoying for restless sleepers on very hot nights. The mattress protector on one of the single beds wasn’t on properly, meaning tne bed needed to be remade to be comfortable.
Bizarrely, there is no lock on the bathroom door. The keyhole had been stuffed with paper.
The bedroom balconies overlook a neglected garden with an adjacent murky pond/pool. Thankfully, there is mosquito screening.
Elsewhere, apartments of this size and price range include washing machines. There is certainly plenty of space to include one here. However, you will need to use card -operated mchines in the basement of the hotel next door. Instructions were in Flemish, but even the hotel receptionist couldn’t get the cards to work, and didn’t notice that we were using the top row of mchines (which are dryers, not washers). We ended up using our own credit cards. Still waiting for the refund.

Worst stay
Upon check-in, we were handed a list of rules, and one of these rules required us to clean the floors before checking out. This seemed like an unusual expectation for a rental property.
I had requested a crib when making the reservation, but upon arrival, I was given a broken one. This was not only inconvenient but also potentially unsafe for my child.
The most concerning issue occurred the next day when someone entered our apartment unannounced. When I raised this with the receptionist, they casually explained that housekeeping had the authority to enter at any time. This lack of privacy was a significant concern, especially given the premium price we paid for the apartment.
Adding to the frustration, the flat did not offer cleaning services during our stay, yet they insisted on their right to enter whenever they pleased. This inconsistency in service was baffling and left us feeling uncomfortable.
Additionally, trying to contact the reception by phone was a futile effort. It was necessary to go downstairs in person to address any issues.
Lastly, the €300 deposit required for the flat seemed excessively high.
Overall, I cannot recommend this place. The lack of privacy, unclear rules, inconsistent service, and excessive deposit made for an unsatisfactory stay. I do not plan to return in the future.

Buen apartamento, alejado, obras
Very good location
