Prima hotel aanrader

Dit hotel kunnen we aanbevelen. Prima ligging met op de benedenverdieping een lekker Italiaans restaurant. Vriendelijk onthaal. Het was naar ons aanvoelen de beste plek in Libramont om een avond door te brengen.

Lunch way too expensive

Very clean renovated room, one downside breakfast, €15 for a small plate consisting of yogurt, a very small fruit salad, a small pot of muesli, 2 slices of cheese and one of smoked ham, bread and jam, a hot drink. When you recommend extra coffee, it pays off.

We booked a Queen bed and it was confirmed. We got twin beds and then they change their online description.

We had reserved a room with a queen size bed and saw this confirmed in our reservation. Our room however had twin beds. There was no lobby or receptionist so we had to contact the owner by phone (she was on vacation elsewhere). She insisted that we had reserved twin beds and not a queen size. When we sent her a copy of the room description in our confirmation, she blamed Booking .Com for messing up. After this phone call, she sent us two WhatsApps in which she tried to convince us that 2 twin beds, 80 by 200 cm, are the same as a queen size of 160 by 200 cm. I told her that we understood the math but there is a difference between sleeping in 2 twin beds with a crack in the middle and two separate blankets, and sleeping on a queen size mattress. Instead of reacting to our complaint in a positive manner and offering to help us, she repeatedly denied it was not a queen or that she was responsible for Booking.Com's error. She offered no partial refund or different room; not even an apology. She grudgingly said we could have one glass of wine . Needless to say, we did not take her up on this offer. Disappointing reaction for somebody who runs a hotel. We saw that the listing description quickly changed from queen to twin, but we have a screen shot of the original which we sent to Booking.com. Their response, after 3 emails and 3 phone calls: a 10% discount the next time we book. Fat chance of that happening. And by the way, the beach view they list is actually a small pond in a noisy children's playground facing the hotel. And the town has 2 bars facing the gas station, a 10 minute walk away.
