Fantastic location, a short walk to the beach. Although the rooms are small, they had everything we needed. Staff were very friendly and helpful, making sure any issues were addressed right away. Great spot for families!

Smoking hotel

The C-Hotel Zeegalm is located a bit west of Middelkerke in Miami Wijk on the Belgian coast. Surrounded by holiday parks, you find an almost normal hotel here, even with (nature?) pool & small playground.
There are around 20 rooms and 20 (somewhat larger) studios with a small kitchen.
But be careful: The studios do not have air conditioning. There seem to be differences with the rooms as well, at least according to the website. The nicer rooms are definitely the ones in the beige "Ibiza style."
The hotel is only a 5-minute walk from the beach and offers (too few!!) free parking spaces directly at the hotel.
I think the location & proximity to the beach are great. The small pool is also quite nice. However, you always have to go to the reception here for access and leave an ID card there. All residents from the holiday park of the same name around it also have access to the pool. So it can get crowded.
The rooms look very chic in the pictures, but on-site they are already significantly worn out and, above all, not very high-quality furnished. Everything wobbles a bit (even the floor tiles outside) and simply does not have good quality. There is a refrigerator, but it smells strongly of overripe fruit. The bathroom smells really musty and the ventilation (a constant rushing sound like on an airplane, but a bit quieter) is always on during my stay. There is air conditioning, but it is strangely installed & also loud, and it does not manage to cool the room down to the set temperature in two days. I can easily imagine that this is a problem at high temperatures.
But everything is okay so far, because the price-performance ratio is also okay as a result. An absolute deal-breaker, however, is that the hotel is not smoke-free. Well, the rooms might be, but there is a balcony directly in front of/behind them. It is not only continuous (so there are no partitions between the rooms) but also has a cigarette disposal between each room, which practically invites you to smoke extensively here. So it smells of smoke as soon as you step onto the balcony, which makes it unusable for me and makes airing out the room impossible.
There is a small children's playground here and a pool adapted for children. At the same time, however, smoking is encouraged. That doesn't add up and doesn't make sense to me; one could simply be a completely smoke-free hotel. But apparently they don't want to, which is why I'm only giving it 1 star.

Our stay was great. We checked In late and the key collection was very well communicated. Our only gripe was that when we checked in at 10pm that we had lots of ants crawling through the room which our kids hated. As it was so late there wasn’t anything we could do but kill the ants ourselves. Everything else was great

Cozy for relaxing

Cozy, small hotel amidst the dunes. Very quiet. Ideal for relaxing. Not far from the beach. Between Westende and Middelkerke. Good breakfast buffet, varied. Everything is great. We gladly come back every year.

Highly recommend

Excellent overnight stay. We are a family of 5 and chose two rooms - a studio and a twin. Both were very clean and ideal for us. Check-in was really straightforward, good communication from the hotel. The breakfast was delicious! Amazing selection. There was also a park outside where the kids enjoyed playing as we finished our tea.

Very good location
