My only comment is that when what appears to be a two people room was transformed into three people room by adding an additional bed, the room became rather crammed. Otherwise, we loved everything - the place itself, the staff, the location. I recommend it heartily.

Mediocre Hotel

The historic building, centrally located in Namur, features two commendable restaurants. However, the room equipped with a bubble tub and sauna was notably compact, with the bathroom exceeding the bedroom in size. Furthermore, the cleanliness of the room was unsatisfactory, requiring a thorough dusting even after communication with management regarding visible dust accumulation. The in-room safe also necessitated repair. Additionally, coffee and tea provisions were not replenished following room servicing, and inconsistent hot water supply presented a significant challenge for showering.

Rumor has it the hotel is overall a great place. BUT, unfortunately, our room #600 on bottom floor of the new portion of the hotel property, had a severe sewage smell throughout the room, obviously a structural issue with bathroom drains into the municipal sewer system. Definitely not just a “oh you just need to open the windows for a few minutes” kind of problem. The room was uninhabitable thus the front desk staff did process a complete refund. Big hassle as we had to find other accommodations at the last minute.

Dreadful stench

We booked one of the suites as it was large and had a kitchenette which was equipped with an induction hob
and a microwave plus pots and pans. However there isn’t a bread knife or a sharp knife. In the French speaking part of Belgium this is incredible, how do you cut your baguette?
We were assigned room 600 which is at street level and despite having opening windows they could not be used due to privacy, noise, security and the invasion of cigarette smoke.
However all this is less important than the waves of unbearable sewerage smells entering the room. The smell is in the entrance, the bathroom and the bedroom. If we had not prepaid then we would have left. The reception staff were unable to help and did not acknowledge that this has been a common complaint.

One of the iconic restaurants in Namur

A very original setting. We were at the brasserie at the very top... it was quite warm.
A good dinner at a very reasonable group rate.
Everything was good.
