THE DISCREET CHARM OF A WATERFRONT VILLA

In a “snowflake” landscape, dressed all in white, we discovered this haven of peace, beauty and harmony on the banks of the Meuse. Wonderfully well renovated, this villa offers all the amenities and comfort desired. The breakfast was fantastic and in these winter times, we welcomed, with happiness, this warm open fire!

Setback

Nice location, parking on site!
Beautiful view at the front of the Meuse and at the back of the (closed) pool and the beautiful garden.
Large bedroom, large bathroom.
Bed is not of the best quality, bed linen outdated (pills on the sheets)
Shower Floor is Super Smooth!
Simple breakfast, coffee from a thermos flask, no orange juice and the host is watching your fingers in the breakfast room.
No fridge in the room.
There's a sign on the sink saying it's not drinking water... but then I expect a bottle of water and two glasses...
We had a lot of expectations for this overnight stay but that is terrible against.
In the evening we smelled a weed smell and heard gnawing and rustling of a beast.
The area is very nice, but we then look for another location with a friendlier welcome!

Stunning

Building is stunning the architecture decoration is outstanding remember it is 300 years old. This contributed to the quality of the stay. The floors creaked so badly we felt we were disturbing other guests by using bathroom during the evening and generally walking around. We wake early and felt compelled to remain in bed. The bathroom is beautiful but huge and very cold after your shower. In addition the toilet system does not flush and so we had to use facilities next to dining room downstairs. We did not realise this however until the early hours. The grounds are amazing and extremely well kept. Breakfast was extremely good with a decent selection €15 pp in addition to stay. We had no kettle or similar in room and no complimentary water as you are advised to refrain from consuming the water in bathroom.

Pure enjoyment!

Ideal stay for a relaxing getaway near Dinant. We had two beautiful spacious rooms with a view of the Maas and between the rain showers we could fully enjoy the sun in the beautiful garden: deck chairs, benches, gazebos, ... something for everyone.
The host once had a star restaurant in Brussels and he has not forgotten how to receive guests. He welcomes everyone very jovially and in the evening he crawls into his cooking pots for those who want to join the long guest table. We were served a delicious three-course meal at a very reasonable price. All dishes were real flavor bombs. The wine was also very well selected. You rarely get so many fresh vegetables on your plate at a restaurant. The breakfast was also excellent: plenty of types of breads and fillings.
Highly recommended for those who enjoy a personal welcome, good food in a pleasant, quiet setting.

Charming maison d'hôtes in an idyllic location - shame about the poor customer service

It's a very grand house, with manicured gardens, situated in a river valley, right on the river. All very tranquil with a large comfortable bedroom and separate bathroom/WC next door, all in my own self-contained private area.
Breakfast was continental and as expected, with a good range of breads & pastries, cereals etc.
My main complaint was with the booking process - no acknowledgement of it and I had to take to calling (no answer) & sending a text message before I received a reply. Then upon the departure, I was charged €101, although upon checking what I was quoted, I realised it was €89 only. I have asked 4 times for an explanation of the difference and 6 weeks later I have not received a reply.
