Great experience at Gumbo Limbo Jungle Resort

This small resort was an oasis in the jungles of Belize. It consists of 5 stand alone rooms - they look like little villas - that surround a well kept pool. There is a lovely covered veranda where the complimentary breakfast is served, as well as dinner, if you choose. It is also available to just relax on. Christine and Jay were consummate hosts; making sure we were comfortable and answering any questions we had. We had a room with two queen beds that were very comfortable. Gumbo Limbo was a great location for getting to the attractions in the area. Having the pool to come back to after our excursions was the a great way to relax before dinner. If you're looking for a low-key resort, this is your place.

Great stay in the jungle

This resort is a lovely lodge in the hills of Belize. The hosts Jay and Christine are Canadian ex-pats who do a wonderful job of cooking your meals and serving them in a lovely open-air style gathering place. Meals are home made from local ingredients.
The pool was also lovely, the rooms spacious and clean, and A/C available. Sleeping units were individual units with plenty of privacy and access to a beautifully kept property.The hosts were more than willing to share the local history, places to go, flora and fauna information, and tips on local customs, health care; local transportation etc. Very gracious hosts!
