Mariposa Jungle Lodge is the perfect place for a special occasion or weekend getaway. The staff is super hospitable and are very willing to answer any questions and accomodate any requests that you have. The food is top notch and the grounds are very well kept. I would highly recommend Mariposa for a 10/10 experience.

Beautiful cabins and great with food allergies

Truly a great place with wonderful staff. We rented the new Tapir cabin, which was beautiful and clean and had plenty of space for our four adults and two children. We booked several tours through the lodge that were great, including Tikal and a canoe into a nearby cave. Enjoyed the pool and hiking around the grounds, and saw howler monkeys and a huge variety of birds.
But the biggest thing was that they were extremely helpful providing gluten-free, cross-contamination-free food for my son with Celiac disease. They cooked special versions of everything for him, and even provided us a packed gluten-free lunch for our Tikal tour. Traveling can be stressful with Celiac, and they made it all a breeze.

Thank you so much for this wonderful review! We're delighted that your family enjoyed the new Tapir cabin, the tours (especially Tikal and the cave canoe), and all the wildlife sightings. But most of all, we're incredibly happy that we could make your son's stay safe and worry‑free. Navigating Celiac disease while traveling is no small thing, and our kitchen team takes cross‑contamination very seriously. Knowing that our gluten‑free meals and packed lunch gave you peace of mind means everything to us. We hope to welcome your family back to the jungle for more adventures and safer, delicious meals!

Adventurous and relaxing family retreat - great for kids of all ages!

If I could give the Mariposa 10 stars I would! My family (two adults, two kids age 11 and 8) stayed in the Iguana Cabana. The lodge is beautiful. The Iguana cabana was gorgeous, with two of the bedrooms opening onto a deck that was wrapped around a tree - a very private retreat in the jungle. The grounds and pool are also beautiful and well maintained. But what makes the place really special is the people. Robe, Leo, Norma, and Solesi were incredibly kind, friendly and made us feel more like family than visitors. Norma and Solesi's food is amazing (you will not regret booking the meal plan!). Robe and Leo make incredible drinks. Vanessa and the office team also arranged 4 terrific tours for us - ATM cave, horseback riding, cave tubing, and Caracol with a stop at the Rio pools. Our guides Renan, Joe and Darwin were amazing. We wish we could come back every year!

Thank you so much for this beautiful review. It truly means the world to us that you and your family felt so at home in the Iguana Cabana
We're overjoyed that Robi, Leo, Norma, Sulisy, Vanessa, and the entire team made your stay feel like family. That's the highest compliment we could ever receive. And hearing that Norma and Sulisy's cooking, the tours, and the jungle experience all came together so perfectly for your family warms our hearts.
We would absolutely love to welcome you back every year. You'll always have a home here in the jungle.

Excellent Jungle Lodge

My family had a great stay at the Mariposa Jungle Lodge. The grounds are nice. The food and drinks were great. The best part was the staff, especially Robi, Leo and Gabrien. All the activities were fantastic. Our favorites were the ATM cave, Caracol and the Butterffly garden.
