A true haven of peace and a very beautiful place to discover in Porto-Novo.
I had a very pleasant time at this establishment, where I particularly appreciated the quality of the welcome, the kindness of the staff, the peaceful and well-kept setting, as well as this warm and authentic atmosphere that immediately invites you to feel at home.
The restaurant is really worth the detour. The dishes are flavorful, generously served, and prepared with great care. It is a great opportunity to discover or rediscover the flavors of local cuisine in a pleasant and friendly setting. Their pineapple juice is a real delight.
The rooms are comfortable, clean, and conducive to rest. The calm that reigns in the establishment allows you to truly relax after a day of discovering Porto-Novo.
What I particularly liked is this beautiful combination of hospitality, authenticity, local gastronomy, comfort, and serenity. Everything is there for a pleasant stay.
I recommend this establishment without hesitation to anyone who wishes to eat well, discover the flavors of Benin, enjoy a peaceful setting, and spend a few nights in a warm atmosphere.

Good hotel but avoid the restaurant.
The setting of the Résidence Ouadada is pleasant and the rooms are decent considering the rates charged.
On the other hand, the restaurant is to be avoided, especially if you are with your family. The experience was catastrophic from start to finish. Despite having some of the highest prices in Porto-Novo, the quality of the cuisine is very mediocre. The meat skewer was prepared with stew-type meat, tough, stringy, and totally unsuitable for this dish.
The service is simply catastrophic: endless waiting and a total lack of organization. After nearly two hours of waiting, we were even forced to refuse one of the dishes, which still hadn't been served. With children, such an experience is particularly painful and completely ruins the meal.
Finally, while the establishment legitimately highlights its cultural dimension, a documentary was being shown one evening on a big screen. Wishing to know more, we asked several staff members, but none were able to tell us what the subject was. This lack of information is regrettable and gives the feeling that these cultural initiatives are not sufficiently promoted to visitors.
It is all the more a pity that this catastrophic catering and this lack of staff preparation tarnish the image of an establishment that actively participates in the cultural influence of Porto-Novo. The numerous initiatives supported by its management deserve a restaurant, service, and visitor support that live up to the ambitions of the place.

Little jewel!
What a charm for this small discreet hotel! Beautiful garden very well maintained; haven of peace and quiet; great cleanliness; everything works very well in the bathroom (which is rare in Benin); staff with little care; very good restaurant on site; roof terrace to read and rest; each room has its terrace and small office; cultural exhibitions; tourist excursions offered on site with very good guides and taxi that take you directly to the hotel. Thanks to Yvonne for her sweetness and Jean-Marie, the captain of her taxi;)) Congratulations to the boss and his wife for this jewel and all your cultural actions! Best value for money we have made in Benin.

good vibrations
The 'Ouadada' (meaning 'welcome' in the local Fon language) is a charming accommodation a bit far out of the attractive historical centre of Porto Novo, so it is good to have one's own transport. Everywhere there are of pieces of African art and many plants. My room had a terrace with table and chair and a view towards a courtyard. I also enjoyed the swimming pool, for which towels are provided. There are no loungers with it, only regular chairs.
The bed in the room was equipped with a mosquito net, which was not necessary now in the dry season, so I took it off, since it bothered me. Bathroom was fine. What didn't work most of the time was the WiFi. To get back to the room in the dark after dinner a flashlight is recommended.
For dinner with very friendly staff I was first brought some popcorn. My choice then was the speciality 'Vouandzou', made from Bambara groundnuts. Very tasty, but they had forgotten the meat with it. After I mentioned it they brought it separately afterwards. Fantastic was the pineapple for dessert, beautifully presented in the shape of a 'pirogue' boat.
During dinner I was asked, if I wanted an omelette for breakfast, which starts at 7am. Otherwise there is only some water melon, jam, butter, baguette bread and fresh pineapple juice. Payment for the accommodation is by cash only.

An integrated hotel in a cultural center.
A place of serenity that opens the mind to art, after a day-long discovery of the city of Porto-Novo.
The entire site is spotlessly clean and the staff is up to the standard.
Rooms , certainly not very spacious, but where everything is present.
An original swimming pool with decoration in the spirit of the establishment.
