Nice hostel in perfect location for exploring!

Very big nice beds.
Very friendly local stuff, helps you with allot of information.
Best location for exploring the city!
PlayStation and a bar for some relaxing.
At weekends maybe a big party, but not until very late.
I don’t understand the recommendations! Specially for 7 Euro a night, it’s the cheapest option in the city and 100% recommend! I don’t understand people at all, book the cheapest dorm in the city and expect 5 star hotel! Angry about that!
This hostel is definitely perfect and nice for 1-3 days!

DO NOT BOOK HERE! THEY SCAM GUESTS!!

I had an awful experience with this hotel in Santa Cruz! The arrogant receptionists made me pay 30 USD more than the room price that I booked through Booking.com. I paid cash in Bolivianos and only did the Math later. When I asked why they brought a lousy excuse, it would be due to the higher "exchange rate". This is the first time I encountered this at an accommodation in Bolivia. I complained about this matter and the "manager" of the place, as well as other staff got super rude with me. I read other reviews only after this incident and it is clearly a scam of this place and sharlatans! They shouldn't be allowed to list their lousy, rundown hotel on Booking.com. They do not offer any comfort whatsoever! The place is in desperate need of renovation. Do yourself a favour and book elsewhere.

Deceitful beyond measure

The owners/managers are deceitful. Upon check-in they stated that there would be an extra "exchange" fee if you pay in local currency so that they can convert their income into USD which calculated to an extra 9%, though the booking stated that all Tax was included. I paid them in cash and requested a receipt which they agreed on. Then after I paid they said they couldn't provide one now, but in the afternoon they would WhatsApp me. 3 days past until they issued a fake receipt which showed that I paid the booking amount in dollars when I paid in local currency and which didn't show the extra 9%. Other travellers I met thereafter agreed that these people exude dishonesty with slimey behaviours. Additionally the property wasn't maintained at all. Literally no maintenance to be seen since the hostels inception. It's clear that either their tenancy is ending or they plan to close so they're stealing money before the final exit. Don't stay here, don't promote dishonesty. They also lied via booking.com messenger stating that my number doesn't have WhatsApp... though they eventually sent the receipt via WhatsApp.. . Stephen

Avoid this place like the plague. My partner was due to spend around 20
Nights there. She had a significant amount of money stolen from her room with no other guests staying there. To the tune of 300 dollars on the second night. Went to the police and after making enquiries she was advised to leave for her own safety. Management had the sickening audacity to bill her for the two nights after all her savings had been wiped out leaving nothing. I cannot urge you enough, find somewhere else, no good people running this pot mess.

Dear Stephen,
My name is Manuel Moreno, founder and co-owner of Nomad Hostel. Please communicate to your partner my deepest regret for the inconvenience during her stay at Nomad Hostel.
The truth is that 2021 was a very complicated year for everyone, and our field was the hardest hit. About robberies, even we were affected by the loss of objects in the hostel. That year brought with it backpacker tourists in a complicated economic situation due to the evident crisis.
Anyway, let me tell you that the hostel has private lockers. It is unfortunate that it happens, but we cannot take responsibility for thefts carried out within the space.
Regarding the charge made for the last two nights. As I already mentioned, 2021 was a year to forget. We depend on that income for the project to survive. That year we were not in a good economic situation.
Please, I hope that what is described above is of your understanding.
Let me repeat it, we are very sorry for the bad experience. As a hostel project, we always try to provide the customer a great space to hang around with a good experience, but it is not always achieved. If it helps, if for some reason you decide to go through Santa Cruz again, write me on whatsapp and I'll take care of reversing that bad experience.
Best regards.
Manuel Moreno

I loved Nomad Hostel!

I will admit, I had a private room.. which had air con and it was hot out. So that was nice. The staff were super nice too. I liked everything about the place really. It's a block from the main plaza. There's all kinds of markets, shops, bars, restaurants, laundry, whatever, near by. Some things can be hard to find, so you ask questions or, like me, just walk a lot.. Either way, I highly recommend this hostel. PS: nice beer selection!
