Fantastic camp in the Chobe region, ideal for combining with Hwange National Park.
We were on a wonderful 10-day safari with Hideaways Africa from Maun to Vic Falls, spending 1 night at Camp Kuzuma before continuing to Hwange National Park via the Pandamatenga border post. This is a highly recommended combination, with a transfer time of just under 2 hours to Robin's Gate.
We flew from Khwai to Kasane and, upon arrival, took a private boat tour on the Chobe River, complete with a hearty lunch. It was absolutely spectacular; we were able to observe many hippos, crocodiles, elephants, kudus, impalas, and also many fish eagles up close from the boat while enjoying drinks and snacks in a relaxed manner. In the early afternoon, there was not much boat traffic on the river, making it a very pleasant, relaxing activity included in the overnight price.
After the boat tour, we drove for about an hour to Camp Kuzuma, which is located in a private concession on the border with Zimbabwe, along the migration route of elephants and buffaloes towards Hwange National Park. Along the main road, we also saw some elephants trying to cross the road. Especially at night, it is not safe for humans or animals, but it is normal everywhere in Botswana.
Camp Kuzuma is small and exquisite, with only 7 very spacious and luxurious rooms, along with a small spa. The large, open main building features a cozy lounge with a bar, dining area, pool, and fire pit, from where there is an unobstructed view of the large waterhole. When we were there in May, unfortunately, there was not much activity at the waterhole because animals could find water everywhere in the bush due to the heavy rains in early 2026. However, our ranger told us that during the dry season, large herds of elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes come to the waterhole on their migration towards Hwange National Park and back. The private concession is very scenically interesting, with open savannah alternating with patches of forest and tall palm trees. And you are out alone, as the concession is exclusively accessible only to the camp. Since we only had time for a morning game drive, we could not see much, but we would definitely stay at least 2 nights next time.
The staff, management, and guide were all wonderful, with warm hospitality. In the evening, we had a traditional African dinner, featuring local African specialties and singing by the team, a truly wonderful experience. We felt very comfortable and will return, but for 2-3 nights next time. Full recommendation!

Amazing would come again!
The staff were amazing and super helpful! The atmosphere is incredible and seeing the animals at the water hole was beautiful. The location is great as it is filled with animals crossing from Zimbabwe. Our rooms were gorgeous and clean. The relaxing sounds of birds and animals can be heard with the quietness of the noise level around the lodge. Excellent value for what you experience!

Stunning lodge away from the crowds of Chobe
Stunning lodge away from the crowds of Chobe. Rooms were huge, very well appointed and very private. Staff and food where amazing and the location of the dining and pool area overlooking the waterhole was magic - we had around 12 elephants and general game all right in front of us we didn’t even need to leave the lodge. Guides were incredibly knowledgeable and very respectful of the wildlife and saw a great variety of game including lions, zebra, hippo, giraffe and plenty of elephants. Can’t recommend Camp Kazuma enough!

Best of the Best - Hideaways Camp Kazuma
On arrival at Camp Kazuma, you immediately feel at home in this beautiful camp. Well appointed with very large suites, accessed by raised walkways, and very private. The rooms were impeccably clean and the staff were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble and the highlight of the stay was watching the elephants coming down to drink at the waterhole, which is literally 50 metres away from the lodge. Stunning property and well positioned. Great food and wine.

Wonderful stay at Camp Kuzuma
We had an exceptional stay at Camp Kuzuma Hideaways. The rooms were very spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed. The raised deck walkways made it so easy and enjoyable to move between the rooms and main areas during the day.
The staff were fantastic—friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. The food was excellent, and everything was thoughtfully prepared.
Our safari guide was amazing and made every game drive a great experience. We also really enjoyed the talk on the region and its history—it added something extra special and insightful to our visit.
We loved our time here and would definitely like to come back and stay longer next time!
