Ótimo atendimento, quartos e camas confortáveis, banheiro mais simples, mas chuveiro com pressão além do comuns, perfeito para um bom banho!

Already blown up??

You could be forgiven for thinking this place had already been blown up. The worst hotel I have ever seen on any continent. The entire room was not square which suggests very questionable construction. A/c did not work. When you flush the toilet it washed across the floor. One towel to share. One pillow to share. No toilet paper and no soap. Horrible neighborhood. Avoid at all costs. We had prepaid all charges for one night but when we tried to leave we were detained and told we owed money to a tour guide we had never heard of. Luckily another tour guide who just happened to be there and spoke english assisted and he called the guide we allegedly owed money to. Eventually it was sorted without payment but we nearly missed our flight out.

Awful

This was without a doubt one of the most horrible "hotels" we encounterd during our five week trip through Brazil. Although we had booked a room weeks in advance, no one seemed to know (or care). The man at the reception made us really feel unwelcome and appointed us a room that was obviously not cleaned. There were empty beer cans lying around, wet towels on the (unmade) bed, sigarette buds in the ashtray (in a non-smoking room!) and the trash of the previous accupants was still in the trashcan. After complaining and waiting for another 20 minutes we were given a different room. This room was slightly cleaner, but still the sheets were stained and there was hair in the sink and on the bathroom floor. The room itself probably was not cared for since the 80's, as the furniture was broken or worn, the windowglass was broken and the bathroom smelly.
The hotel is right next to a poor neighborhood, which makes you want to stay in after the sun goes down.
All in all an absolutely AWFUL place. I sincerely hope that this review helps people to navigate around this house of horror.

Good, reasonably priced, esp. for an overnight stay

We arrived in Cuiaba with no place to stay, and the taxi driver dropped us off here. The staff didn't speak any English, but they understood that we were just after a room for the night and it was fine. We managed to order a delivered pizza in the evening, despite the language barrier, but it was ok in the end. There is free 'net access, and I've since discovered Google Translate which would have helped. The hotel is located very near to central Cuiaba, but it's not the prettiest place in the world to be honest. The room was standard, no mosquito nets, and no extras. In September it was SOOO HOT!! A room fan is a must, since there is no air conditioning. Overall, it did a job for us for the one night, but I would struggle to recommend it to anyone staying for longer than that.
