Comfortable pousada with amazing host!

Casa de Mirtes is a very good budget option for a pousada on Fernando de Noronha (which is one of the more expensive places to visit in Brazil, but totally worth it).
We stayed for 3 nights and our room was comfortable and clean. It served as a great home base from which to explore the island. Mirtes is an absolutely wonderful host and goes out of her way to make sure her guests feel comfortable and are taken care of. We don't speak Portugese (and Mirtes doesn't speak English) but she spent at least 30 minutes with us upon our arrival answering our questions via the Google Translate app. It was such a nice gesture and made us feel very comfortable. She also helped us arrange a buggy rental, which was dropped off at the pousada for us the next morning.
We didn't really use the shared kitchen or lounge room but they looked to be clean and roomy.
The pousada is centrally located and there are plenty of restaurants in town, easily walkable within 10 minutes. The access road is dirt and can get quite muddy if it rains, but that is true of a lot of the island in general.
There is a little local store roughly 200m away where you can buy water, beer, snacks, etc. And there's a spot across the main road that does fantastic acai bowls and fruit shakes - great breakfast option.
Remember that this is a budget option on a remote island, so don't expect 4-star hotel amenities. However, having a great host like Mirtes makes a huge difference.

Fantastic pousada, clean, lush gardens, close but quiet, lovely hostess.

Close to town, but quiet, lush gardnen surroundings, very clean, shared kitchen and living room, fridge, tv, air cond in room. Comfortable bed, amazing hostess Mirtes! Remember it is a pousada in Fernando, don't expect it to match 5 star hotel, but for Fernando, we had no complaints and it was well priced for this isolated treasure of an island. You will only be there to sleep or make the odd meal to save $ since it is very expensive in Fernando, but worth it. We always ordered one meal for two and it was enough, tho they often offer meals for two which gave us leftovers. A true dream vacation, private beaches all in top ten of the world, go and you will know why!

Cozy

Nice place to stay, with a nice garden. The room had a privte bathroom, TV and air-conditioning. No room service. Location is really good and the owner is a darling. English is not spoken here, but Mirtes will always go an extra mile to help.

Great location, amazing host

Casa de Mirtes is in a great location, and worked perfectly for us! There's a little tapioca and acai shop across the main road that we went to every day for some meal. There's a bus stop right where you come out to the main road.
There were folks from all over the world staying there when we went during the World Cup. Mirtes is a wonderful host and is happy to make recommendations for where to go and how to get around. She cleans every day, and is very responsive to any issues her guests might have.
The road to get to the house is pretty muddy if it's rained recently, so be prepared to get a little muddy walking home, but that's probably good advice for the island in general.
If you're looking for a a relatively inexpensive hostel, definitely stay with Mirtes, she's wonderful and the location is awesome.

Surpreendeu!

Super recomendo! Maravilhoso custo beneficio!
