Great resort

Great option if you are returning from Savaii for an overnight stay or looking to stay close to the airport. I stayed here on my last night after I explored the beautiful island of Savaii. It is about a 3 minute drive from the Mulifanua Wharf and about a 5 minute drive away from the airport. The resort is massive and is beautiful located along the ocean. Rooms are spacious with views of the ocean. Everything worked and the shower pressure was strong. After staying at other resorts in Samoa, the strong shower was a welcome surprise. I also tried the spa, which was fantastic and located in a serene outdoor area where you can relax listening to the birds. Food at the restaurants was decent.

BAD EXPERIENCE

*1/5 – “Samoa Beach Resort” was the worst part of our Samoa trip*
My family and I stayed at Samoa Beach Resort recently and honestly, it was one of the most horrible hotel experiences we've ever had. I don't write reviews lightly, but other families deserve a heads up before they waste money here.
*Customer service: rude and inconsistent*
From check-in to check-out, the service was terrible. We were told by a staff member named Fred that we could order from the dinner menu for lunch. We did. Then the bill came: $80 tala per plate because it was dinner pricing, not lunch pricing. When we questioned it, a different staff member with a really rude attitude told us that “Fred doesn't know anything.” So which is it? Staff openly contradicted each other and we were left paying for their miscommunication. Being lied to about policies is unacceptable.
*More dishonesty about our flight*
The worst part: a worker told us our flight was delayed so we didn't need to rush. Something felt off, so we rang Faleolo International Airport ourselves. The airport said check-in was already open and people were boarding. If we had listened to the resort staff we would have missed our flight home. That's not just bad service, that is reckless.
*Room and facilities: broken and unhygienic*
1. *Phone lines* were bad. We couldn't get through to reception when we needed to.
2. *TV barely worked* the entire stay. Not a huge deal, but when you pay resort prices you expect the basics to function.
3. *Housekeeping standards* were bizarre. There were used cups left in the bathroom along with water bottles. Why are drinking cups in the bathroom? And there was no milk for coffee, which again, is basic for any hotel.
4. *The pool made my son sick*. Within a day of swimming he was unwell. I can't prove it was the pool chemistry, but he was fine before, swam there, then got sick. That raises serious questions about cleaning and maintenance.
*Overall*
Between the dishonesty, the billing issues, the broken amenities, and the attitude of some staff, we felt completely disrespected as paying guests. We left feeling ripped off and stressed instead of relaxed.
Save your money and your sanity. I cannot recommend Samoa Beach Resort to anyone, especially families. Management needs to seriously train staff, fix the rooms, and take responsibility when things go wrong instead of blaming each other.
If you had a different experience, maybe we just got unlucky. But for us, this was the most horriblest hotel stay we've had.

Staff is great

Elizabete, who works at breakfast, Alan, the pool waiter, and the 'clown uncle' (recreation coordinator) are the highlights of this hotel. Luiz at the door, welcoming everybody.
Very special people.

The gym was very good. The staff was extremely empathetic and always willing to help and support. I stay with my girlfriend and her two teenagers' boys and we all loved.
