Horrible- run away from this place
Unfortunately, my experience at Pousada Monte das Serras was not positive. I was in a large group and, although we have identified several problems during the four-day stay, the outcome made it clear that the venue is not prepared to offer professional care.
1. Problems in the room
As soon as we arrive, we find the bathroom sink hanging without stopping. Every time it was used, the water slipped and weted the feet, keeping the bathroom constantly dirty and damp. A simple discomfort, but that greatly impairs the stay.
2. Extremely limited breakfast
The breakfast was scarce. At all times the guests needed to wait for food replacement, as if everything was being rigidly controlled. This caused inconvenience at various times.
3. Dirty pool during your entire stay
We stayed four days in the hostel and, from the second day onwards, the pool water was already visibly dirty. There was no cleaning at all. On the fourth day, the water was dark and unsuitable for use.
4. Problems with lunch and price change
We tried to have lunch at the hotel. They initially informed that the dish cost R$ 25,00. At the time of the request, they changed everything and said that it would only be possible to hire the buffet, which went to R$ 40,00. Even so we accepted, but the amount of protein served was minimal, with only two options available.
5. The worst: the collection of the towels
Despite all these problems, everything would be relevant if the final care had been adequate.
On the exit, the hostess sent an employee to inform us that two towels were stained with makeup, and that we would be charged R$ 40,00. My wife claimed that one of them was already stained before, but that was not considered. They informed that the towels would be discarded. In view of this, I asked to keep the towel, since I would be paying for it. It was then that they said that, to carry, the value would be R$ 140.00 per towel — even though it is “inservable” and intended for garbage.
This behavior demonstrates a lack of professionalism, empathy and preparation. Our group invested R$ 13,000.00 in the stay and, still, in the end there was not the slightest flexibility of the guesthouse to deal with a simple situation.
