Refúgio em meio à Mata Atlântica

O Auá Hostel une o acolhimento das montanhas ao acolhimento das pessoas. Refúgio para quem busca um local tranquilo, com barulho constante de água corrente e canto de aves, uma verdadeira imersão e experiência de hospedagem na Mata Atlântica. Além de ser um ambiente totalmente integrado com a natureza, os proprietários possuem um sistema de gestão sustentável dos resíduos orgânicos, além de outras práticas ambientais que só somam na estadia. O custo benefício é ótimo, a vista de tudo o que eles tem a oferecer. Não vejo a hora de retornar!

Run away!!!

Flee this place! Owner not nice at all. We were charged because we left a dish with muesli in the fridge…… We returned from a 3 day trek and were not allowed to use the toilets. A place to absolutely avoid!!!!!

close proximity to walking trails - limited comfort - overpriced

The redeeming feature is it's close proximity to the natural park, making it a practical starting point for walking. Also it is quiet at night.
Very simple pousada with elements of nature. I had a bunk bed in a female dorm. Clean. It is cold at night at that altitude and the blankets are thin. I did receive an extra blanket upon request. Sheets are of very cheap quality, 100% polyester. When i asked for a flat sheet (to use under the blanket, I received another fitted sheet and when i pointed out that that wouldnt quite work I was told they did not have any fitted sheets - come again?)
For the comfort that we got I thought 150 reais was expensive esp as it did not include breakfast (for which we were charged another 45 reais per head for self service breakfast). We were able to go back there after the trek to take a shower, paying 25 reais per head but for our group of 7 people only 2 showers (of the 4) were opened, even though it was prescheduled and they knew we were under some pressure to make it back to the airport in time. This meant one of our party simply did not have the time to take a shower (after 3 days in the wilderness!) Dinner option was frozen pizzas, which were not bad (esp. as we were hungry). Again somewhat overpriced compared to what you would pay in Rio or SP.
The owner tries to position himself as friendly and relaxed but in reality is extremely focused on extracting as much cash from guests as possible, which dampens the experience somewhat.

Excellent

Beleza natural maravilhosa, estrutura impecável e atendimento nota 10. Muito perto do parque da serra dos órgãos, piscina natural, banheiros limpos, cozinha comunitária, redes para relaxar, som de água e pássaros.

Lugar lindo e limpo

Recomendo. Muito bem organizado, banheiros e cozinha ótimos, ambiente bem confortável. Muito próximo a trilhas ótimas também, com caminhadas curtas se pode conhecer outros lugares belíssimks. Vale muito a pena a estadia. Parabéns pelo espaço.
