An international hotel

It is a large, centrally located hotel in the city of Rio, in Lapa, in a bohemian neighborhood. We traveled as a family, my wife, my daughters, and I. The hotel stands out in several aspects such as the quality of the buffet breakfast, cleanliness, air conditioning, the very friendly staff, many even bilingual or trilingual, and it does not stand out in the soundproofing of the rooms, especially on the lower floors, although it does not become a major problem. The neighborhood in general is quiet, we moved around without issues during the day, approx. between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., although one can get scared by people sleeping on the ground, or seeing homeless people or drunk people. There are also parties at night some days of the week, and on Fridays or Saturdays. Nearby, one block away, there are at least 3 restaurant options that allow for a family atmosphere. One of them with really good Japanese food. I would go back without hesitation, given that its central location allows visiting most of the areas of interest and beaches in less than half an hour.

Avoid at all costs.

As a frequent hotel guest, I have never seen anything like this for an establishment claiming to have 3 stars. This hotel absolutely does not deserve them. Here is why you should avoid it:
Deplorable hygiene: The rooms are dirty, and the smell is simply nauseating. The sink was full of hair upon our arrival, and the towels were never changed during our stay. The same goes for the common areas: the pool and sauna are disgustingly dirty.
Safety and environment: The neighborhood becomes very dangerous at night. Additionally, be sure to bring earplugs: even on the 7th floor, the noise from the festive bars on the street makes sleep impossible. Do not hope to rely on the air conditioning to close the windows; it makes a thunderous noise that is unusable at night.
Abusive business practices (Opaque billing): The minibar in the room is chargeable, but no prices are displayed. Worse still, the hotel charges you for items you did not even touch! The prices for dinner meals are not mentioned anywhere either.
Catastrophic dining: The breakfast is unimaginably monotonous (always the same thing every day), and the dinner meals are simply inedible.
In summary: Dirty, noisy, dishonest, and poorly located. Avoid this place; this hotel is a scam.

Clean rooms and good hotel location for party lovers

If you want to be in the center of party Rio on weekends, the hotel is in a very good location. If you prefer it calmer and with cleaner and safer neighborhood, maybe to chose another part of the city. Otherwise, hotel itself was quite good, breakfast was with a good selection, clean rooms, very friendly and attentive staff, overall a good experience to stay here.

Good hotel but lacks supervision

We had a very nice suite on the top floor with an ocean view, I liked the balcony a lot, now the problem is with breakfast, which for being 4 stars is not up to par, unfortunately the waitresses are chatting at the door and they don't even offer you coffee, terrible service, the young man who works at night is very kind and friendly, the location is excellent, it's a shame only the breakfast and the dining room leave a lot to be desired.
