First time in Rio

Ipanema beach hostel was amazing! My friends and I met a bunch of great people and had a blast. Definitely would recommend!

I rarely leave negative reviews because I’m usually very satisfied with my Expedia bookings, but unfortunately this experience at Ipanema Beach Hostel was extremely disappointing.
The photos shown online did not match the actual property conditions. The place felt disorganized, poorly maintained, and far below expectations. The room quality was bad, and the stairs were incredibly narrow and uncomfortable, to the point where my friends could barely walk through them properly with luggage.
The biggest issue was the noise. There was a party at night inside the property, and it was so loud that guests could not sleep properly. For travelers looking to rest, this was very frustrating.
On top of that, the staff attitude felt arrogant and unhelpful during our stay, which made the whole situation even worse.
I paid using my Expedia KeyCash and trusted the quality based on previous great experiences with Expedia, so this was honestly disappointing. I hope the property improves its transparency and guest experience in the future.

Best hostel in Rio

I had such a great stay. Everyone was so kind and helpful. Renan made great drinks every night!! Can’t wait to come back
