Careless management of the Carlton Baobá Taubaté SP

My husband used book.com and held a confirmed reservation of a room with a king size bed. When we arrived at the hotel they gave us a room with a double bed instead. When we called Ms. Tainá at the front desk to ask about the discrepancy she said nothing could be done about it, because all the rooms with a king size bed were already given out. We asked for the hotel’s manager’s name and she refused to give it out. Also said the reservation could not be canceled anymore. Later she called our room and said they would authorize the cancellation if we wanted to. Without an apology or any offer of compensation. She was somewhat arrogant and that’s bed business to me.
If the manager is not on site, the acting manager should be more concerned and able to solve this kind of problems a little more gracefully. Fortunately for us there are better choices of hotels in Taubaté SP. Don’t waste your time!

We could not stay. The place was dirty - all toilets were clogged and dirty it was by far the most disgusting place I have ever set foot in. Never going back.

BOM MAS ESTÁ PRECISANDO DE ALGUNS AJUSTES !

We only spent 1 night in the hotel because we had a wedding in the center of the city of Taubaté! The location was great for us who came from São Paulo because it is next to the Dutra which allowed us a very quick arrival and exit since the access to Carvalho Pinto is about 5 minutes and at the same time is very close to the center of Taubaté ! The check-in was super fast. The common areas of the hotel are very well decorated with very nice environments. Nice pool. Cozy restaurant and reasonably good food. Breakfast with the basic options. Our room until then was nice with a good shower , good air conditioning and a good cable TV and streaming but the small bed, sheets, pillows and poor quality towels left much to be desired besides being with some stains. We didn't have a good sleep! For only 1 night until it was enough for us since other better options in the city were crowded because there was some big event in the area!

Reservation cancelled by the establishment

Bad experience — my booking was unfairly cancelled
I made a reservation in this hotel by Booking in advance and, on the day of my trip, after spending more than 5 hours in transit to get to the city, I was surprised to hear that my reservation had been cancelled under the claim of invalid card — something completely unfounded, since I use the same card on several reservations and never had any problems.
I strongly suspect there was overbooking and used this excuse to cancel my stay. I contacted both the hotel and Booking and no one solved the problem, one pushing the responsibility to the other.
I was completely helpless and had to search for accommodation in a city with almost all the hotels crowded. I ended up having to sleep one night in one hotel and another in another, because I couldn’t find availability for two consecutive nights in the same place. It was extremely stressful and totally disrespectful to anyone who planned a journey with responsibility.
I do not recommend and would never try to stay here again.
