C'est Terrible (This is Terrible) !

In all my recent international travel this has been my worst hotel experience. Came to Cameroon for the first time for a wedding event and was provided with accommodation. From outside the hotel looked just average with the hotel grounds and quaint huts the main actors of this betrayal. Once inside the rooms you realize that appearances can be truly deceiving. You can feel the springs of the bed's mattress and therefore a most uncomfortable night awaits, the white sheets are darkened by long time use, the wardrobe looks exhausted of standing and my showers dripped till dawn after I used them. The hotel appears to be well located but can't be sure since i barely know the Garoua, the price of rooms range from 40USD to 120USD per night. I ate dinner at their restaurant which was just Ok as well. Surely never a hotel I will personally consider returning to and if offered accommodation kindly decline. Am sure Garoua has better to offer at comparable price. This Hotel must have long passed its glory days. A pitiful waste of land that could be better cultivated and used. Indeed - C'est Terrible !!!

Rooms are terrible but we heard the bukaroos are better...you decide

Our room was very bad--the toilet didn't have a seat and the bathtub was quite dirty and rusted out (see our pictures). The staff was unfriendly and the food basic. We did not enjoy our stay at all.
To give you an idea how bad it is, upon our return from Maroua--our tour guide re-booked us there for the night. The tour group literally revolted, commandeered the tour vehicles, drove them to a neighboring hotel and got rooms there. Interestingly, we all took photos of the rooms at Relais St. Hubert in case the tour company had questions. The group leader was angry--probably because he didn't get his usual kickback--but we all had a better night's sleep.
Unlike our room in the main hotel area, one couple from our party had to stay in the bukaroos (round huts, often with two rooms) behind the main hotel. They told us it was fine. Anything would have been better than what we had.

Low expectations won't disappoint

Our hotel room smelled like mold. We were lucky, since our bathroom had a toilet seat and toilet paper. The water is so acrid that it rusted holes in the bathtub. If you stay here, bring your own sheets, toilet paper, soap, and towel. The hotel restaurant was a bright spot. For around $8 USD you can get a large chicken, fries, and a beer. $5 USD will get you a good cup of coffee and a baguette. For a good night sleep, stay away from the salad. I didn't see the swimming pool, but I heard it looks pretty sketchy.

L'emplacement de l'hôtel est idéal. Proche de tout et vous êtes en sécurité
Mais les chambres ne sont pas entretenues. La climatisation coulait dans notre chambre. Les lampes de chevets étaient sans ampoules. Pas de serviettes de bain. Les rigoles sont sales et amène des moustiques
