Very bad water, horrible smelling and taste...
Firstly, the photo's pictured are deceiving. It is a very pretty property and the owners are very friendly and nice, which does make this post harder to write. However, after the horrible experience that we had, I couldn't in all fairness not write this as a warning to other's who are looking to stay here.
Upon entering into the B&B you are greeted with an overwhelming smell of incense, it permeates into everything. Looking back, I wonder if this is used to cover up the incredibly bad smelling water, which smells like sewage water. We spent an entire day kayaking and therefore needed to take a shower. Ever smell hot sewage water? That's exactly what happened during the shower. It was so bad that I almost threw up.
My husband rinsed out our water bottles and then realized what he had done, so fortunately we had some large water containers with us and used that to re-rinse the water bottles. I then filled our bottle and took a swig and spit it out as the other water was still very present in our water bottle. To also let you know, there is no other means for drinking water, the tap is it!
Next, the room we stayed in. Hard mattress, crinkly pillows (we brought our own so that was a relief) and very low quality furnishings. Also no TV in the bedroom.
The next day as we were packing up very early to leave, there is a one inch rise to one of the floors which was not marked and as I was taking my bags to the car I smashed my foot into it and broke my toe. This ledge needs to be marked so that no one does this ever again!
We didn't partake in the breakfast as we couldn't stomach the idea of possibly drinking coffee or juice from their sewage smelling water. So we left early to avoid breakfast.
We did write a personal note to them regarding the water and I really hope that they can find a solution to this issue. At the very least please have water drinking station set up so that people can drink fresh water. The rest of the issues were purely cosmetic and we would have overlooked it all, except also the one inch rise that is not marked and hopefully you can make that change too so that no one else breaks their toe, or worse, trips and falls and breaks something far worse.
I believe that these two issues are pretty serious and wonder if there are any safety protocols that B&B's are subject too?
