Remind yourself this is a BnB and not a hotel. For the price you might be expecting some details that don’t exist. It’s a communal space including a fridge and dining area.
Hot tub and pool are extra charge for 90 minutes of usage. A shame considering the price of the room. Not sure this is because the staff need to be around to supervise? Expense of heating it? Staffing?
I would suggest allowing a booking of one hot tub session per room or at least pair it with a spa treatment to entice guests to spend more? It’s odd that the pool and hot tub sit unused.
Also suggest an option to heat up food, there are no nearby restaurants.
Keep yourself busy with a hike up Mount Maxwell and watch out for the deer when driving at night as they are everywhere. Tree House cafe in Ganges for lunch is good too.

A little piece of heaven
The views of the sea were absolutely breathtaking, the rooms were spacious and beautifully designed, and every detail reflected care and intention. The breakfasts were delicious, the staff incredibly kind and welcoming, and the grounds were immaculate — full of hidden nooks to explore, journal, or simply breathe and be.
At night, the stars sparkled brighter than I’ve ever seen, and ending each day in the hot tub and sauna was pure bliss. Lightwater Cove is a place where time slows down and presence deepens. I can’t wait to return — to bring friends and family, and to one day host a retreat here. It’s a space made for expansion, growth, and coming home to yourself.

Beautiful property but very strange business practices
The breakfast was also lovely.
The rest of the stay was extremely underwhelming.
Our room was so small that they could only fit one nightstand in it. This sounds like a small thing but it’s really inconvenient to be comfortable without a nightstand. I was also a bit shocked that the room didn’t include any type of mini fridge, coffee or tea service or TV. The resort is very far from town so not having a fridge makes it very tricky to eat dinner on the property.
The oddest thing about the hotel is definitely the amenity situation. They advertise the pool and hot tub but they actually charge $220 per couple to use the amenities- and that’s only for 90 minutes! I have never seen this and I travel very often.
The pools were empty the entire time (expect for owners or staff who don’t have to pay to use them) and it just felt really rude. Mind you these rooms cost well over $600 per night plus taxes. We saw one couple try to jump in the hot tub and the male owner went running over scolding them and eventually agreed to let them use it just briefly. They had to really plead to use it and it just doesn’t make any sense to me.
We asked if we could use it and post some pictures online and they agreed to waive the fee for Instagram picture.
It was all.. just extremly odd.
I would consider returning if they ever decided to let guests use the pools . Until then I would rather stay at a competing hotel that actually allows you to use the onsite amenities.
