Small, spartan rooms. Clean. No TV in room but there is wifi. Owner was very accommodating! Close to train and across the street from the grocery store.

Just DON'T

The only word I can think of to describe both this property and its proprietor is "skanky". The place had an overpowering odor of tobacco mixed with incredibly strong cleaning (maybe bleach) solution that was being used to mask the smoke odor. The owner was a strange old guy, who, when asked about various issues was utterly unhelpful. I, along with two other groups of incoming guests waited outside in below zero weather. There was a sign at the front door saying "Our Front desk is closed. Please call xxx-xxx-xxxx" We did, told him we were outside, and he said "OK I'll be here."(Language barrier issue) Then we all waited about 10 minutes outside and called again. I was clearer this time: "Are you coming to open the door and let us in?" When he replied "Oh, I'm here, the door is unlocked, come in"....I knew we were in trouble. Upon entering and being hit in the face wtih this incredible smell, we also discovered that the place overall was bleak, at best, and dirty. The carpet was stained, and the bathtub had black mold around the edges, and the tub spout had been "Fixed" using a string to hold it up. There was only one queen room, and it has been assigned to me (a solo traveller). Of the remaining 6 rooms, all twin bedded, one was to be for another couple who had been waiting outside with me. I offered to trade them so they could have the double bed. Both rooms were equally awful. So clearly, asking to change rooms would not have been of any use. I asked for a refund pretty quickly after assessing the situation, and was told it had been paid in full, no refunds. (Probably actually did know that, but hadn't remembered) I'd strongly suggest staying at another hotel. If budget is an issue as it was for me, there are a few other much nicer places for the same price. NOTE THAT ALL THE 5 STAR REVIEWS were written before the hotel was sold to the current owners about a year ago (learned from other business owners in town). And PS. The image of a charming Swiss chalet type building is of the train station, NOT the hotel.

The carpet was stained, and the bathtub had black mold around the edges, and the tub spout had been "Fixed" using a string to hold it up, having fallen off. Absolutely outstanding stay.
Exceeded expectations in every way. The owner is unbelievably helpful — from lending extra equipment we didn’t even think to bring, to offering solid local advice that genuinely made our trip better. You can tell they truly care about their guests.
The location couldn’t be better: right by the train station and steps from the grocery store, which is a huge bonus in Churchill. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and cozy — perfect after long days out exploring.
Overall, just an incredibly positive, welcoming experience. Friendly, well-run, and absolutely worth staying at. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back or recommend it to anyone visiting Churchill.

the room was bare bones only 1 strait back chair. the sitting area(lounge was blocked off when the recemption was clossed and locked(most of the day)
the emergency exit was also behind locked doors and blocking snow pile . check out time was the earliest i've seen and bear no relation to train schedules. There is no bagage storage. Reception was closed and locked up from my arrival shortly after noon until next day after 8am
