Charming Inn

Best Western Fireside Inn, Kingston Ontario
A charming vintage inn that is well cared for and very clean.
The room was well appointed.
The staff are very helpful and came went above when an unplanned incident occurred on my end. It turned out well with their help. Due to being smaller, the service was more personal and individual.
Only drawback was no elevator.

Stayed here many times, always enjoyable. However on check in I was surprised we could not check in until 3:00! That was the posted time but all I wanted was to check in then leave my bags until 3:00. I was told no exceptions in what I considered a very abrupt and rude way. I have done that at hotels around the world, but not here. With two grandkids hoping to get to the pool they were very disappointed. Then at 3:00 we arrived back at the hotel and went to the back of a long line because nobody could check in before 3:00. Thinking of the customer. I think not!!
Once checked in, every thing was very good.

Cozy, well run, friendly, experienced staff.

Cozy, unique rooms each have a fireplace. Good included breakfast, freshly cooked. More bread choices, including bagels and croissants and cheese/cream cheese would be nice. Just a suggestion, not a complaint.

Delightful Stay in King Room with Fireplace

Stayed in a standard King room with fireplace. Loved the charm of the 4-poster bed and gas fireplace. Larger room with couch. Clean room with comfortable bed and great shower head with plenty of hot water. Complimentary breakfast with a great selection of options. Dined at Tom's Place, an on-site pub and lounge. Delicious ribs and chicken wing dinner.

Hopefully you don't have to deal with Fred at the front desk. He is terrible!!!!
The pool didn't have water in it when we arrived. It was unusable the entirety of our stay.
The hotel is falling apart.
Not once was the breakfast selection changed. It was the same thing for the 11 days we stayed.
The fridge is extremely small.
Hit and miss with service for our room.
I would not recommend for extended stays.
The positives were the room was large, the bed was comfortable, and the other staff excluding Fred were great.
