Make time for a great dinner

A must for spectacular dinner and service with a smile that is second to none. Already planning a getaway so we can stop back in. Thank you for your great food and hospitality.

Management is Disappointing

Wonderful staff in the dining room but not great management. We had no hot water and left the "Innkeeper" phone messages, text messages and a written message and never heard back. Our tour guide finally got through to him a day later. The owners should have the women run the entire operation. They are awesome.

Robbed on Mother’s Day weekend.

I took my mom here for Mother’s Day afternoon tea today as a special treat, along with my two boys (ages 4 and 6), and unfortunately the experience left me deeply disappointed.
When I called ahead to book, I specifically asked about the children sharing an afternoon tea because they are young and picky eaters. I was told I could decide when I arrived. However, once we got there, I was informed the manager insisted each child had to purchase their own full tea. At that point, I felt cornered into spending nearly $100 on two extra teas that were barely touched. Under normal circumstances, I likely would have left, but I didn’t want to create a scene or ruin Mother’s Day for my mom.
What upset me even more was the allergy issue. I clearly mentioned on the phone that my mother has a seafood allergy and requested no fish. When the sandwiches arrived, there was salmon touching all of the sandwiches on the tray. We mentioned it immediately and, to her credit, our waitress was kind, apologetic, and did replace them. She handled the situation professionally and was the bright spot of the visit.
Unfortunately, the food itself was also underwhelming. The desserts were extremely repetitive, with multiple items featuring the same lemon cream flavour. Neither of my children liked them, and there were no alternative options offered. For something marketed as a special afternoon tea experience — especially on Mother’s Day — it felt uninspired and lacking care or attention to detail.
What stayed with me most after leaving was the feeling that the focus was more on maximizing the bill than creating a thoughtful customer experience. Hospitality should make guests feel welcomed and valued, especially families celebrating meaningful occasions. Instead, I left feeling taken advantage of.
It was also hard not to notice that on what should have been one of the busiest afternoons of the year, there were only three occupied tables in a very large room. Sadly, after this experience, I can understand why.
I truly hope management reflects on how this was handled, because the waitress deserved better support than she was given, and customers deserve to feel cared for — not pressured.

Above and beyond!

Spent 2 nights at this amazing bed and breakfast. Stayed in their accessible room on the main floor. It was so comfortable and suited my needs perfectly. They made sure I had a medication fridge and that my ice packs were kept frozen. I can’t even believe how clean the room was and the breakfast options were plenty and delicious!! Will stay here again the next time we visit Lunenburg!!

Skip the breakfast

The decor is lovely, the service is very good, a pleasant and helpful server. The food was below standard. We were there mid-morning for brunch. Bacon was over-cooked, dried out and tasteless, potatoes were burned and barely cooked in the middle, eggs were dry, and tasteless. My friends' had a similar experience with an over-cooked breakfast bowl. Menu prices were higher than normal for inferior fare. I don't know if lunch and dinner are a better experience, having never dined there. Whatever. we'll go to the Kiwi Cafe in Chester, next time. A longer drive but worth it!
