Breathtaking view of the valley from room

The view of the valley from the balcony is surreal. This was our second time at this property with guests. It's located 50 minutes from the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal and is a good weekend getaway. The rooms we booked had a mini kitchen, which is very handy for making quick snacks. The moon rising from behind the mountain looks so beautiful. We could even see Aurora late at night. There is a good restaurant right next to the lodge with tables overlooking the valley. There are good hikes nearby, like the Niagara and Goldstream Falls. Come prepared with any food, as the nearest grocery store is 20 min away in the town center. The property offers self-check-in and check-out, but help is available by phone whenever needed. The hot tub and the room corners had some dust and hair. They should pay more attention to cleaning.

Good experience, bear in mind this building is fairly old.

Room #10 had a fantastic view, coupla things were a bit off, TV only got CBC never did get it to work, the porch facing the chalet had a screen door that had no rollers, suggest to remove it, the other balcony door had no screen door at all, other than that very enjoyable stay

Do not go if you have a dog

Honestly never want to write a bad review but we were very disappointed with this hotel. As soon as you walked in you should be looking at the fabulous view (that did not disappoint) but as soon as we said we said we had a dog we were ‘upgraded’ or shall I say ‘downgraded’ to a room that we immediately saw dog feces all over. My dog was smelling every inch of the room. I could see where dogs had urinated and could see other dog poop all over the carpet. The bedding is all white so I went to get a comforter out of the closet and it’s full of either food or throw up all over it. We have finally decided this is the last hotel we are staying in with dogs. We are very conscience of having a clean environment that we are paying for. Just because we have animals doesn’t mean we want to stay in a pig pen. We will choose airbnb’s from now on where the owner takes pride in their home and we will take pride in renting and caring for their property that we pay for.

Disgusting garbage and saggy mattress.

Disgusting, dirty, killed 20 wasps on 5x6 deck in 2 hour. Chair cushions ripped, dirty and cig burn holes. Bed was like a 20 yr old cottage mattress, sagged. Counters dirty. Told them I didn’t want a soaker tub and when I arrived they had “upgraded” me to a soaker tub room. Beautiful view is blocked by railing at eye height when sitting in chair. No help with luggage and no elevator. Garbage and old propane tanks lying around the outdoors. No landscaping. Absolutely a rip off.

Amazing experience

Excellent service, beautiful rooms, and a beautiful view. We definitely want to come back and spend time with our family again. We celebrated our birthday and loved the experience. Everything was very clean. It's very pleasant and has enough space to have a great time.

Very good location
