The hotel was nice, if booking a " deluxe garden view room" it means a view of the building next door and a flat roof covered with fake grass. Seems like false advertising

We had an excellent stay at Hotel Birks Montreal. The location is outstanding, right in the heart of the city and within walking distance of Montreal’s best shopping, restaurants, and major attractions.
The room was spacious, beautifully designed, and very comfortable. The bathroom was large, modern, and well-appointed.
The service was exceptional from start to finish. The staff was professional, attentive, and always willing to help, making our stay even more enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.

The overall review of the hotel is great. Fantastic location, incredible valet staff, clean and reasonably priced for its star rating.
A couple qualms that may have just been one-offs. After we checked in, we got settled and went for a walk; about an hour later, we came back to our room being ajar and someone from the cleaning staff fixing her makeup in the mirror. No supply cart, no explanation, just excused herself and left. We found it quite odd since we were already checked in and needed no other support at that time.
On the second night, I called the front desk asking for turndown service since we hadn't received it the night prior. We were told turndown service ENDS at 6pm but they were willing to accomodate and sent someone up as we left; I also asked that two additional towels towels be included which I was told would be done. When we returned late that evening the bed made, trash was removed but nothing else. No additional towels, no general clean up. In my experience, turndown can be requestested as late as 9 or 10pm, slippers usually left out with chocolate, fresh towels, etc. None of this is required, of course, but it felt very bare minimum.
The rest of the trip was perfect; had a great bottle of wine recommended by the bar staff, friendly service from everyone at the hotel, and a complimentary 2 hour late check out given our late flight time.
Would absolutely stay here again.

I had chosen Hotel Birks for a weekend visit to celebrate our wedding anniversary because of the great reviews and the recent historical renovation of the building; and we were not disappointed in the least! What a delightful experience from start to finish. The renovation was well executed, resulting in a contemporary experience in the common spaces while maintaining the beauty to the building's art including the stained glass windows. The resulting guest rooms were luxurious, well laid out with ample room both in the main bedroom and the bathroom; nothing felt cramped. Attention to detail included extra large bath towels, a well stocked bar area, good seating and lights ASA desk, TV and even a fireplace. Bedding was comfortable as well. Housekeeping kept all tidy. The staff was exceptional and well trained. All interactions, including the restaurant, reception and bellman were professional, friendly and welcoming. We also greatly appreciated the kind note from hotel management acknowledging our wedding anniversary with a box of chocolates and again in the restaurant Henri for dinner...someone is paying attention! Well done and we will return again one day!
