Memorable, Beautiful, and Unique!

Easy access to sites, stunning atmosphere inside & out! Very comfortable room and bed. Lovely, helpful hosts. Quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend! Great value too.

Highly Disappointing Experience

My husband and I stayed in the Sherrif's Suite which was a very disappointing and impersonal experience. There were instructions to write our breakfast preferences on a slip of paper provided in the self check-in envelope. However, there were no pens provided, so I texted the information to number provided. Hours later, the owerers/B&B runners called me, but I couldn't hear much because of the noise volume of the restaurant I was in. I then had to step outside to hear them and an abrupt woman, who failed to even introduce herself, asked me in what house and room I was staying. I was thrown because I was confused as to why they couldn't have figured that out based on my name, phone number and the fact that they communicated their awareness of our arrival via text the day before. The woman's abruptness put a damper on our evening.
The house is extremely old with sticky locks and had a very stale and musty smell. There were some extremely worn and unclean house slippers provided which we didn't even comfortable touching. The bed linen was extremely dated and uncomfortable. The mattress and pillows (there were only 2) were quite soft and lacked proper support which irritated my back problem. The shower stall in the bathroom was very small and there wasn't even one hook available near the stall to hang our towels. The toilet paper was a thin as rice paper and the dust in the bathroom and bedroom was very visible.
There is a fridge and microwave in the hallway. We would have greatly appreciated it if they stocked it with some bottled waters as we both woke up very thirsty.
We did not enjoy our stay here at all. Based on the poor phone etiquette, the conditions of the bedroom and bathroom, as well as the furniture, we decided against staying for breakfast (we weren't even informed where the dining room was located anyway). I texted them to inform we had checked out, wouldn't be staying for breakfast and left the key in the room, which was later marked as read. They didn't even bother to acknowledge or reply.

Loved our stay!

Our hosts were wonderful and spent time sharing the history with guests. Breakfast was delicious and the bed was so comfortable. The gardens are absolutely stunning!

Breakfast very good. Hot tub great and bed very comfortable. Would prefer a bit bigger TV as hard to see. Gardens were absolutely stunning!!!!
