The Delta is a decent hotel to stay in in St John's. It's a little bit dated but the room was clean and comfortable. The pool needs an update and the showers had an issue with running cold. I also think the hotel could include shampoo and conditioner in the showers in the change rooms for the pool and gym. The breakfast buffet seams pricey at $30 however there was a really good variety and I think it's good value for the money. The location of this hotel is really convenient as well.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. It is a large and busy hotel, downtown St. John's. The room was quite large and the bed was very comfortable. However everything seemed a bit worn and old and could probably do with a bit of an upgrade. The breakfast buffet was on the top end of mediocre and very expensive. I only had it once then switched to the breakfast menu which was much better. I also had the lobster dinner at the restaurant one night and it was delicious. The service was excellent as well. So all in all it's a nice hotel, but I think I will try another one next time I am in St. John's.

Great location and walking distance to pubs and shops. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Fresh and updated! We didn’t use the pool however the restaurant was convenient and tasty. We felt safe even late at night walking back to the hotel.

Tired hotel with wonderful staff

The Delta is tired. It is in bad need of a complete overhaul. Shabby wallpaper, stained rugs, paint chips, just a sense of neglect. 1/3 of the elevators have been out of service for months.
The staff are fantastic. .Absolutely everyone is kind, polite and ready to assist in any way possible. GM Winter fixed a rate problem immediately.
The breakfast buffet was exceptional, best buffet scrambled eggs ever!
Good location for downtown walking and a stop on the Hop on Hop off bus.

The elevator issue is being experienced across the continent due to certain parts being declared obsolete with replacements not yet available. We are working with our elevator company to mitigate this issue. Your comments about the areas in need of improvement are important to us and we are pleased to advise that we are currently in the planning phases of the next round of renovations due to begin in early 2027.

The perfect location

Overall our stay here was fine - I would stay again solely for the great location. The proximity to downtown restaurants, bars and the pedestrian mall is great. The hotel itself has a great atmosphere in the lobby area with a bar and coffee shop. The pool and hot tub are great, although the area is slightly dated. We were on the second floor and I wished after that I had asked for a higher floor, but a harbour view room is great. The hallways and carpet also seemed dated on that particular floor, unsure if they’re all like that. We did request bathrobes upon arrival but there were none available, we called again on our second day to ask and they still had none - if you plan to use the pool, I’d suggest bringing a cover up of some sort
