Nice location, short on value.
Now the bad. First inside the room the bathroom smelled moldy. My wife determined it was the shower curtain (yes, this place has a bathtub for the shower). We called for a replacement. The worker who replaced it was adamant that it wasn’t the curtain but I asked her to replace it anyway. It was noticeably better. I mention this episode because the next day after housekeeping the smell was back. The curtain had been replaced again. Don’t know if it was intentional.
The room was also very damp. Everything had a slight dampness. Don’t know if this is typical but it wasn’t great.
In world where we just accept these things I was nonetheless irritated by the $23 glass of Prosecco. That money is certainly not going to hotel upkeep. The three pictures below were taken in our hall. At least there overnight, if not longer.

Lacking Marriott standards
We needed early check in and confirmed
twice via phone that we would be able to. When we arrived they said our room wasn’t ready and wouldn’t be for an over 4 hours. We’ve checked in at other places around 1pm many times as Elite members. They basically said there’s nothing they could do. We asked if we could switch to a different type of room and were also told no. Finally I said we need somewhere
To be able to get ready after a 5 hour drive with a family and they finally agreed to give access to the pool area which was better than nothing.
We checked into our room after 7pm and while the room was very spacious with an excellent view, it was certainly dark and drab and not up to date whatsoever. Additionally, the room was clean but definitely not spotless. You could see visible dust throughout and grime in the shower. We ordered room service and the cart remained in the hallway all weekend. Just overall this property doesn’t seem to live up to the Marriott standards people are accustomed to, especially for the astronomical prices.
A few positives were the bed was very comfortable and the hotel is in a good enough location. The hotel is also incredibly kid friendly with the arcade area, outdoor play space and a pool stocked with fun kids items. That we appreciated greatly.
We would not stay here again.
