Clean room, comfy bed, friendly and hard-working staff. Conveniently close to restaurants along with one on site. Across the street from a lovely and quiet park with walking trails to the river.

Really good food in the restaurant. Get a voucher at the front desk for hot breakfast. Had Dinner special the night before, only $10 for a home style cooked meal.
Negatives, property is old and run down. Not dirty, but needs some extra cleaning.
Bed not great, had a poor sleep.

Book your stay somewhere else. Woke up to cockroachs in the bathroom including mold in the bathroom. Very hot room with no AC and dirty. They didn't even clean the floors and found dead bugs on the floor. Worst hotel i have ever stayed in.

Hotel specific: the room was larger than expected. Two complimentary bottles of water were provided. The location was right on Portage. The breakfast was a free hot, plated breakfast which included a beverage, which was a nice surprise. There is a pizza place and liquor store next door.
Room specific: The shower water pressure was outstanding. The bed was comfortable. The drapes kept the room pitch black.
Hotel specific: the outside of the room could have been cleaner and less shabby. Check-in is outside of a bar entrance, so checking in with small children might be awkward. Also, check-in and the rooms are not in the same building, so if unaware, you can unpack everyone/everything only to have to pack up again to go to the room. Summer, ok; winter, no thanks. Claiming the free breakfast in the restaurant has to be done via voucher provided on checkout, which is not super clear. As it's a free, served breakfast, we didn't have the option to tip the servers as we didn't have cash.
Room specific: The remote for the tv was not the original cable remote so couldn't navigate the guide to find out what's playing. The drain in the tub was obstructed leading to pooled water in the shower. While there was a smell of smoke when we got in the room, we called the front desk and someone came immediately with air freshener, which helped. If you are allergic/asthmatic though, I'm not sure if that would help. A/C did not work. Stains on the bedspread.

This hotel was dirty. Not suitable for anyone. The room had a urine smell. Toilet water was brown and dirt and dust in the room. We checked out after 10 mins and found different accommodations
