Friendly, homey place to stay at YK!

I am so gald I found this place for my trip to Yellowknife! As a solo female traveler, safety was my top priority. And this BnB met all my requirements - safe, friendly, approachable, great location and clean! I stayed at Embleton, run by the wonderful couple Faith & Ken, for two nights in March 2023. I stayed at one of their very reasonably priced private suite. It was spacious, with all amenities one could need, and was very clean. The location was perfect - 5 mins from the city centre and restaurants. I was in Yellowknife mainly for the Aurora tours, and I was lucky to see them both nights. The tours I had booked knew this BnB and had no issues finding this place to pick me up for my tour. Faith and Ken were very warm, very friendly and very approachable - I highly recomment staying here on your next trip.

Lovely place

Originally we booked for 3 nights but then we extended our stay since we weren't sure if we'd be lucky to see auroras in 3 nights, and our stay couldn't be better. Owners are super friendly, caring, and always willing to accommodate your needs. It felt like my house when I was exhausted after aurora tours; highly recommend! I hope to see them again some day.

Yes, staying up those late nights often leaves visitors exhausted. One thing, have to say is when you see the Aurora in all its glory it is worth the effort. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. 23 years of operating a B&B here in Yellowknife has taught us a lot. We are very grateful when guests like you share your thoughts on your stay, Thank you for staying with us. Please come visit again.

Yellowknife stay cation

We took a trip up to Yellowknife and stayed there nights at this b and b. Covid has changed some of the procedures for checkin and staying but the owners are friendly and adaptive to the situation. We stayed in the Al's hideaway suite which was perfect for our family of three and enjoyed nice peaceful evenings just a short walk from dining and the movie theater. A much needed break from the small town we live in. Just hope the Aurora tour business that is such a Yellowknife staple comes back soon. Border closures have all but decimated this charming side of the city.
We will be back for another stay for sure though

Comfortable and Welcoming

We had a great time in Yellowknife and thanks to Faith's suggestion of downloading Northern lights photo app, we were able to see the Northern lights. The weather wasn't too favorable for viewing the lights, but we got lucky. We stayed in the shared area then on the last night moved to the Captain's suite. We slept well, it's a very clean facility. We had the pleasure of meeting Congo the parrot and Cleo the dog. Definitely would stay again.

Excellent B&B

The accommodation are top notch-we stayed in a suite for 4 nights in October.
Our overall experience was excellent. A Lovely clean suite with all the extras such as spa tub & fireplace. Faith provided all you need for breakfast such as eggs, bacon, cereal hot & cold, coffee, tea & more. The location is great as you are 5 min walk to the Main St. No problem parking a car at the B&B. If you can catch the Northern Lights that is a bonus. We had nice weather. Faith & Ken are excellent host & will be missed when they retire.
