Fantastic!
I have no words to describe this fantastic vacation. Entertainment to say the least perfect, professional, super friendly, engaging, and never overbearing. We are sorry to have to leave and depart from this splendid place! We will definitely return and hope to find Francesco, Giulia, Nicolò, Luca, Amanda, Elena, and Alessandro again! We adored them.

Unique vacation in Sal
An experience to say the least extraordinary! Crazy entertainment. I thank Giulia, Francesco, Luca, Niccolò, Elena, Amanda, and the sexiest one in the village: Alessandro! Super professional guys, engaging, never intrusive, always available 24/7. With them you never get bored, so many activities to do with them. They were the highlight of this vacation. Amazing cuisine Thanks to the legendary chef Ubaldo! A special thanks also goes to Mattia and Andrea who were always available.

Fantastic Location, but the 5-Star Rating Is Hard to Justify
We stayed at Oasis Salinas Sea with fairly high expectations based on the reviews we had read before our trip. The hotel is advertised as a 5-star resort, but after previously staying at Hotel Riu Cabo Verde, we found the difference in standards quite significant.
Let's start with the positives. Oasis Salinas Sea is a smaller hotel, which may appeal to guests looking for a more relaxed atmosphere than a large resort. Its biggest advantage is undoubtedly the location. Santa Maria is within easy walking distance, and the beach can be reached in just a few minutes from almost anywhere in the hotel. We also appreciated the beach bar, which provides a nice place to escape the sun. The beach toilets were consistently clean throughout our stay, and there were plenty of sunbeds available, although there could have been more shaded areas and umbrellas.
Another positive aspect was the soundproofing of the rooms. We stayed close to the pool area, where evening entertainment took place every night, yet the noise level inside the room was much lower than we expected. The room was also equipped with a hairdryer and a minibar fridge, which was regularly stocked with bottled water.
Unfortunately, that is where most of the positives end.
Although the room looked nice at first glance, it lacked practicality. Storage space was very limited. In our ground-floor room, the wardrobe contained only four hangers, no shelves, just open space and two drawers. For a longer stay, this was far from ideal. We were also surprised by the lack of bathroom amenities. Apart from soap and shower gel, no other toiletries were provided. Even basic items that are commonly found in hotels of this category, such as tissue boxes, were missing.
It is difficult for us to fully evaluate the staff, as the hotel seems to cater mainly to Portuguese and Italian guests. The staff were generally friendly and polite, but there were occasional communication issues. For example, on one day we returned to our room to find it only partially cleaned. The bed linen had been removed, but the bed had not been remade with fresh sheets.
The biggest disappointment, however, was the food.
The buffet selection repeated itself throughout our stay, and most dishes lacked flavour and seasoning. Overall, the dining experience did not feel anywhere close to what we would expect from a 5-star hotel. The so-called Italian pasta dishes served in the main restaurant were either excessively oily or undercooked. To make matters worse, it was often difficult to find salt and pepper, as they were only available in a few locations around the restaurant. Guests frequently had to search for them or borrow them from other tables.
We also tried the beach barbecue dinner, hoping for something special. Instead, we were served a pumpkin soup that resembled baby food, followed by a chicken kebab skewer with rice and beans. We honestly had to laugh. This is the kind of meal we might expect at an average hotel, not at a resort marketed as a 5-star property.
Overall, some shortcomings can be overlooked, but guests expecting a genuine 5-star experience may be disappointed, as we were. The hotel's strongest points are its excellent location, proximity to Santa Maria, and relatively quiet rooms. Unfortunately, the food quality, room amenities, and overall service standards do not match the expectations associated with a 5-star hotel.
