Budget accommodation outside town

The place is clean and has a nice small garden. The room has a small kitchenette, with a hob, sink and a refrigerator.
The shower is a bit worn out and it was not able to keep constant hot water, and it fluctuated between cold and hot. There is no thermostat and the hot can be turned to scalding hot too easily. This was the case at least in the cabaña #4.
There is no wifi on the site and mobile network coverage is virtually nonexistent in the compound. What a perfect place for them among us who want a digital communications retreat.
The location is 3,5 km walk out of the town, partiality on a (dry) mud road. If you don't rent a car, you can walk to town using the shortcut through the Ahu Tahai park (that route is around 2 km).
Owners don't speak English but are very helpful and kind. I was able to communicate somehow with broken Spanish and English.

Peaceful

20 minutes walk from the city, extremely peaceful, good for families. You can bring your food and cook there. It had chickens that stop at our door every day, my son was delighted.
Clean. They don´t clean every day unless you pay extra and change the towels every 3 days.
The manager was extremely helpful.

Horrible. Description is full of lies. Terribly over priced.

I unfortunately booked this miserable place for my two week stay in Easter Island this June. The owners took me there from the airport. I was horrified ! The property description is full of lies. It has a horrible location - it is too far from Hanga Roa. It is up this mud track, about one half hour walk from town. I would hate to even drive the track. It is dirty, the facilities are awful - the door on the cabin did not even shut properly. NO Wifi - ever. NO sea view. NO garden view - no garden, just mud. NO bbq. Very marginal cooking and sleeping facilities. You need a car. They had a car to "rent", but the tyres were shredded, and I do not think that car had been driven in five years. The worst part ? This place is terribly overpriced. I found a place that was about 100 times better, much closer to town, wifi, clean - and 50 dollars per night CHEAPER ! The owners speak ZERO English, I think especially once you start complaining. I did get them to drive me back to Hanga Roa so I could find another place, although then they wanted me to PAY them for the lift. Then I said the magic word "TripAdvisor", and they left without demanding payment.

If you stay here you will want to come back

This is a few blocks away from the main street, close to some historical places "ahu & Moais" and with an amazing view to the ocean. If you are looking for cabins in a quite place, good prices, clean, safe, this is the place. In addition, any orientation you may need regarding tours, renting cars, what places to visit, the owners will be more than happy to give you a hand.
