Great location! Great stay! Great people!

All around one of the best hostels! I first stayed here 21 years ago and was just as pleased now as back then. There's been some improvements over time, but it still has a warm, authentic feel. Just a few blocks off the main street, the location is quiet and avoids the crowds. Next door is a restaurant that does great empanadas and also offers sandwiches and pizzas. Also next door is a mini supermarket and wine/liquor store that offers the essentials at good prices. Staff were great with booking activities and preparing a simple takeaway breakfast for early tours. The common areas and rooms are tidy and, while basic, are a great deal for a safe and clean stay. I look forward to staying again.

Lovely centrally located little hostal, with friendly service and very clean

I'll just echo what others have said- good price, walkable from the main shopping street, comfortable, quiet and very clean. We had a private room with bath, double bed was comfortable, shower good although occasionally variations in hot water pressure. Shampoo provided. There weren't many outlets though, so we had to work out our charging needs. The staff clean up every day and do an excellent job. You can ask for anything you need and they will help you. The reception staff all speak at least some English, with Sebastian in particular speaking perfect American English. He also provided a lot of cultural information when we had questions and he wasn't assisting other guests. They are all friendly. The cleaners and breakfast folks may not speak English but Google translate gets you whatever you need to communicate. The breakfast lady was lovely, and knew us after a day and was very friendly.
You can use the well equipped and spacious kitchen after the morning breakfast service. We used it only minimally but saw others cooking all their meals to save money for longer journeys. The outdoor area is also very nice, although small, just a few tables and chairs, plants, and a couple hammocks, which I gratefully enjoyed after an early morning tour.
Other travelers tend to be on the quieter side, enjoying the social patio scene in the evening, but then heading off to their rooms early because folks are getting up for early morning tours. It's not meant to be a party hostel, so keep that in mind. And for gosh sakes, be quiet late and early in the common area!
We booked all of our tours through the hostal, as well as airport shuttles. I will say that you sometimes get a tour guide who doesn't really speak English; we had one of our four tours like this. Still a good tour, but the Spanish speakers got a lot more out of it. The other 3/4 were excellent.
This is a great place to stay in San Pedro and I'd choose it again.

Centrally located hostel in San Pedro de Atacama

A hostel with good location, located ten minutes walk from Caracoles Street, the main tourist street of San Pedro de Atacama. The hostel has shared and private rooms, with or without bathroom. I stayed in a room with private bathroom. It is a simple but functional place, with comfortable beds and a good shower with plenty of hot water. It is a good option for those looking to stay at a good price and will be away for most of the day, touring the Atacama Desert. The accommodation features a communal kitchen, where breakfast is prepared, with fruit, scrambled eggs, cereal and toast, and an area with a couple of hammocks and tables and chairs.

Super Hostel

We had a single room with private bathroom. Although the room was very small, it was very cozy and very clean. In the kitchen you had enough space to cook. The host and all the staff were very nice and you always felt comfortable and safe.
