Nice hotel with great location
The location of the hotel is really super central, which is a big plus. It is not only beautiful to look at from the outside, but also stylishly and pleasantly decorated from the inside. Especially now during the Chinese New Year, a lot of emphasis has been placed on a traditional decoration, which creates a cozy atmosphere.
The reception and reception staff are extremely friendly and speak good English – without having to rely on a translator app. Nevertheless, I recommend downloading the offline version of Google Translator in Chinese if you want to communicate in other areas of the hotel or in the surrounding area.
Another highlight is the beautiful swimming pool. It’s big enough to pull lanes in peace, and the water is pleasantly heated – but in my opinion could be a little warmer. If you like it hotter, you can find a sauna nearby with hot and ice-cold water to cool off. There is also a gym and massage services in the immediate vicinity.
However, there are deductions for the food:
The culinary offer is unfortunately not very varied.
Breakfast: Breakfast in the main restaurant is fine, but the choice for guests who do not eat pork is very limited. Besides omelette, there are few alternatives, and cheese and jam selections are also rather sparse. It would be desirable if, for example, turkey breast, cream cheese or chicken dishes were offered as alternatives.
French restaurant: There is a bit more choice here for breakfast, such as delicious croissants, jam and honey. In addition, the employees there also speak English.
Dinner: Unfortunately very disappointing. There is the same soup with pasta and a rather dry broth every day – without much vegetables or variation. Vegetarians or guests who do not eat pork have few alternatives. There is also only one type of pizza with salami – a simple cheese pizza would have been a good addition.
This is a shame, because Chinese cuisine offers an incredible number of possibilities with various sauces, vegetables and chicken dishes. The hotel could definitely offer more variety here.
Rooms & facilities:
The rooms are very lovingly decorated, although a bit old. The TV is also outdated and features only Chinese channels – with the exception of National Geographic. For a 5-star hotel, a larger selection of channels would be desirable.
Conclusion:
Despite the weaknesses in the food offer, the hotel overall is very nice and above all clean. The central location, the friendly staff and the beautiful premises make the stay pleasant.
However, those who value diversity when eating could be disappointed.
In case of need, there are Mc Donalds and a mail nearby.
I hope, for example, that the food will improve and change.
So you can come back, because the rest is great.

This hotel is one of the best I’ve been to with attention to detail and service. Location is extremely convenient and easily accessible. Staff were very helpful and proactive. Very spacious rooms also. Highly recommend

The hotel room is huge and very comfortable for a family of 3. The bed is enough to accommodate us and our teenage son. The decor of the hotel is very nice, the swimming pool is fantastic if you want to do some burning of calories after all that delicious Beijing duck dinner.
The location of the hotel is just minutes away from the Wang fu Jing shopping district.
The hotel service is fantastic and we wanted to specially mention Mr Yang for helping us to arrange for a car to the Great Wall.
