Value Deal centrally located hotel along Nathan Road

9.6
“Value deal and good location along Nathan Road”
We've stayed here before and found it on a best value deal at agoda. We booked a king non smoking room. They gave us a nice city view. Comparing to usual HK rooms this one is more spacious and comes with free welcome drinks and complimentary canned water with was a delight. The bed is soft and comfortable. The bathroom is bigger than other HK hotels we tried. The breakfast buffet was not included but we tried once and it has a lot of asian choices and fresh juices. The selection was great and it did not dissappoint. The concierge is also a big help to keep your luggage if you are going around. The best deal was it's centrally located near the harbor. 15-20mins walk to the Victoria Harbor and Avenue of Stars. Lots of shops and walking distance to Temple Street night market. There's Wellcome supermart near and Jordan station is down the hotel which is the best part. Easy to go around HK. It was just sad not to have the roofdeck and pool open during that time. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and highly recommended if you want to be in the area of Tsim Sat Tsui. Airport A21 bus stops in front of the hotel and going back is on the opposite road.

Short stay

Room with good size to be in HK, close to the metro station Jordan, facilitates locomocao, café da manha in my case was not included so I can not rate the cafe they serve, but close to the hotel, there are options like Mac Donald for café da manha

Bad attitude of front desk male staff

The attitude of the front desk staff is very bad, making this accommodation very unpleasant, extremely disappointed, and will not stay again.

Functional but far from 4*

I'll preface this by stating that if I were in the area and the price was right I would stay here again.
The bottom line of this review is simple, this is a 3(at best) star hotel, with 4 star staff in a 5 star location. I have no doubt in my mind it was a 4* when it opened in the 90s but sadly I fear a lot of the hotel is still original to that.
The hotel is in a shopping mall above the Jordan station, access for prams/wheelchairs is a bit tricky and involves carrying up steps and using a separate lift as the regular access from the concierge desk to the lobby is via 2 very narrow escalators.
Check in was fine, staff friendly and the concierge process was good.
The room we had was large enough for 2 adults in a very big bed with space for a cot and all of our luggage to boot. The carpets are almost certainly original and look it. The same is likely true of the paint/wallpaper throughout.
The bed is firm, very very firm. For us that was fine but if you're used to soft then this is an immediate no go zone.
The bathroom is functional with a rainfall shower over the bath that works well and a large mirror. The hairdryer is the standard cheap built in hotel one.
The mini fridge had included soft drinks when we arrived and water replaced daily.
The room was cleaned daily and felt clean to be in.
The gym is a joke, I've seen bigger toilets.
Ultimately this served as a room for the night and it did that well, it's just extremely dated and far from what you'd expect to see in a 4*. Tired carpets, discoloured paint, mouldy bathroom tiles and bath surround.
Like I say, I'd stay again for the cost and location at the time of booking but this is not a 4* hotel and if it is I dread to think what 2 and 3 looks like!

Solid Hotel Choice for Hong Kong

Overall a solid choice to stay in Hong Kong. The location is excellent as the hotel sits above the Jordan MTR station. So after a long day of sightseeing, it was nice not having to walk far from a station. Just get off Jordan station and use Exit E and you are at the hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Was able to check in at 1:30 pm instead of 3 pm. Another positive is they give you free drinks during your stay. The refrig was stacked with 4 sodas and 2 waters. Each day they give you 2 waters which was clutch.
Hotel was close to many good restaurants including the Australian Dairy Company. The only disappointing thing about my stay is the gym is tiny with old equipment. Would be nice if they could upgrade the gym equipment. Despite that a good place to stay in HK! Would stay here again.
