Our journey to Macau

Our journey to Macau: Towns Well Motel from May 2-10, 2026. The hotel seemed overpriced, probably due to its location in close proximity to most of Macau's attractions. The public transport stop is close to the hotel, allowing for convenient travel around the city. Since we spent a lot of time away from the hotel, returning only for rest and hygiene, we were unable to appreciate all its possibilities fully.
I'll share all the details so you can get a full picture. We arrived late and were met at the reception by the receptionist who, to our surprise, requested a deposit of 300 yuan. There was no mention of this extra charge at the time of booking. There was no escort to the room, we had to go up on our own. The first thing that caught my eye upon entering was the slight smell of tobacco and dampness.
In terms of facilities, the room had a spacious wardrobe with hangers, a safe and a kettle. The fridge, alas, was missing. Clearly, the room needs cosmetic repair. Fortunately, the elevator worked perfectly. The absence of insects, as well as the daily replenishment of drinking water, personal hygiene products, was pleasing. Wet cleaning was done regularly, and towels were also changed in a timely manner. The glass-enclosed shower enclosure proved uncomfortable. Due to the narrow space and location of the mixer, showering without spilling water was difficult, especially for people with large sets.
We had no problem at reception getting an umbrella when we got caught in the rain. Another point I would like to make is that late in the evening, in the room, we were forced to listen to loud conversations of tourists outside the next wall.
In the immediate vicinity of the hotel all the necessary infrastructure was discovered: a grocery supermarket, a bakery with fresh fragrant pastries, as well as a busy shopping street where you can find clothes, local delicacies, pharmacies and beauty products. Unfortunately, the video cannot be uploaded.

Good decision of the selection

we (me, my wife and a daughter) booked a room for 3 for 5days/4nights. we have little reservations on what the place (especially the room itself) would be like as there is not much review we can see.
we arrived in macau late in the evening and the drive from the airport to the place is kind of scary once we were entering the area as the limousine taxi is going through narrow alleyways, tight bends and hilly ups and downs.
as it’s already dark we did not have time to take a quick look at the motels facade and buildings around it.
walk straight to the reception and the lady receptionist is not the friendly type, does not talk much (but i guess it’s because she does not speak English much) just gave us key to our room, ask for deposit and point us the lift to our room.
the room we had was big actually, clean, with a wide circular glass window with a good view outside. the toilet was also huge.
in the morning when we went out we were very glad as malls with food courts, KFC and McDonalds are abundat around. we did not explore the local food straight away. then we explore all the tourist spots that are all surprisingly walking distance away only including the cathedral.
special mention to the morning receptionist Fai who was very accommodating (show us how to turn on the water heater in the bathroom as we did not understand the translated instructions) and suggested for us to take a standard taxi going to the ferry terminal to hongkong rather than car hire as it is cheaper.
