Always excellent service – my third stay at the Jinling Hotel.
In May of this year, I stayed at the Jinling Hotel for the third time. The Jinling Hotel impresses not only with its excellent location but also with its first-class service that leaves a deep impression. At check-in at the reception, I coincidentally ran into Ada. She was very happy to welcome my mother and me back to the hotel and helped us check in quickly and smoothly. She emphasized several times that we could reach out to her at any time if we needed anything. Her warmth and care gave us a feeling of home, and we are very grateful to her for her support throughout our entire stay.
We would also like to express our thanks to the housekeeping team. They cleaned our room every day with great care and thoroughness, so we were able to enjoy a clean, fresh, and extremely comfortable environment throughout our stay. We truly appreciate their hard work.
We would also like to especially thank Amy Xia and Daisy Zhang from the laundry. They work extremely carefully and reliably, which gives us a great sense of security.
The breakfast at the hotel was, as always, very plentiful and we enjoyed it very much. We were especially pleased to have reunited with Ms. Liu, Ms. Chen, and Master Wang. They were, as usual, warm and friendly. We particularly love the Shengjian (生煎) and the beef Guotie (牛肉锅贴) that Ms. Liu prepares. We sincerely hope to see them again during our next stay. We would also like to thank all the other staff in the restaurant – they work very diligently and always clear away used dishes quickly, allowing us to enjoy our breakfast in a clean and pleasant environment.
A special thanks also goes to Mr. Chen from the beverage area in the breakfast room. He does not speak much, but he works extremely attentively and has a keen sense of observation. As soon as guests have a problem, he is immediately there to help – this gives one a very reassuring feeling.
We were also very pleased to reunite with Mr. Louis in the Executive Lounge. He and the other staff there were, as always, very warm and friendly. When he learned that my mother cannot eat many foods due to a skin allergy – not even chicken broth – he used a new pot to prepare fresh wantans (馄饨) for her. We are very grateful to him and his team for this caring and extremely attentive service.
Furthermore, we would like to thank Ms. Guo for her attentiveness on the day of our departure, as well as the gentleman with the curly hair who helped us order a taxi.
All three stays have impressively shown me that the Jinling Hotel always provides excellent service. Therefore, I can say without hesitation: Thank you very much for your professionalism and heartfelt commitment – we look forward to seeing you again!

Mix emotions review
Our two-night stay at the Jinling Hotel in Nanjing was a mixed experience.
When booking, the hotel’s website primarily showcases the newer tower with its modern rooms. Upon arrival, however, we were assigned Room 502 in the older section of this large hotel complex. The front desk attendant mentioned that the room had been recently renovated and offered a good view. Unfortunately, upon entering, we were greeted by a strong odor that seemed to be a combination of old carpet and poorly ventilated sewage. We turned on the air purifier, which helped temporarily, but the smell returned when we came back later that evening. My wife contacted the front desk, but no alternative rooms were available until the following day.
Since we had an early excursion scheduled, the staff kindly moved our belongings to a room on the 41st floor of the newer tower. What a difference! The experience went from feeling like a three-star hotel to a true five-star stay. The new room was modern, spacious, and well-maintained, featuring automatic curtains and shades, a fresh and clean atmosphere, and a much more comfortable bed.
The breakfast buffet was ok, offering a wide variety of Chinese and Western dishes, espresso coffee machines, cheeses, cold cuts, and an a good dessert selection. We also used the indoor swimming pool, although the water was colder than expected and did not appear to be heated.
I would like to commend the hotel staff for being attentive, courteous, and responsive throughout our stay. My recommendation to future guests is to request a room in the newer tower, preferably from the 41st floor and above, as the quality and comfort are significantly superior to the rooms in the older section.
Overall, while our stay had a rough start, the professionalism of the staff and the excellent accommodations in the new tower helped turn the experience around.

We had a very good time staying in this hotel. It is located in the city centre and the view was stunning! The comfy bed made our nights memorable.

Perfect venue for visiting Nanjing. Staff were all very welcoming and helpful. Room was clean and spacious. Nice indoor pool for relaxing in the afternoon after a day of visiting. Lots of shops and restaurants in the vicinity and easy access to the metro. Presidential Palace is walkable.
