A real hunting lodge

We spent two nights at Lovac as part of a multi-day bicycling adventure through Croatia. The owners are the real deal. You get an experience out of the 1950s, when people were self sufficient. The food was tasty and I suspect much of it they produced. Sitting at the bar, getting a sample of some potent home made herbal drink, is my favorite memory.

Great food

We stayed here 2 nights, Maurice was very welcoming and was a great cook. We loved the fish dishes in particular. The room was large, the bed linen could benefit from an upgrade, and we really enjoyed the breakfast.

So friendly and personal

We were welcomed on arrival with our bikes after a strenuous day and offered drinks and dinner. My pick me up cocktail designed by our host was amazing. A home cooked gluten free pasta with fresh mushrooms accompanied by local wine was delicious. The room was comfortable and the breakfast comprehensive with lovely fresh coffee. Highly recommended.

Genuine Croatian hospitality

We loved our stay at Hotel Lovac. Our hosts were delightful and bent over backwards to meet our needs. I have food sensitivities and had requested a very basic breakfast. Without asking I was offered gluten free bread and a wide selection of fruits, platters of tomato and cucumber, cornflakes, meats, cheeses - all on offer in an effort to accommodate me. Our room was basic, but comfortable and very clean with a good shower.
We ate two excellent dinners there - the whole sea bass comes highly recommended, plus the seafood salad for starters.

Very Enjoyable Stay

My husband and I had the great pleasure of staying two nights at this wonderful B & B. when we were in Buje on a self guided walking tour. The hosts Ellen & Moriz are delightful and extremely accommodating. We had two wonderful dinners. I had mushroom risotto that was the best I have ever eaten. The breakfasts are plentiful and included fresh eggs from the chickens located on the property. There is a lovely patio where we enjoyed cold beer after our long walk. The room was charming and spotlessly clean with an excellent shower in the private bath. I highly recommend this inn.
