Lovely winding mountain village retreat

We booked in for four nights with our one year old son in the two room apartment. The location is amazing, the village is a maze of quaint winding roads perched in the side of a mountain. The locals were so friendly, surprised we had made the effort to visit. Seems to be off the beaten track. Not sure the roads could manage tourism!
The apartment was very generous with lots if space, our toddler enjoyed toddling around. All modern and very clean. There is limited parking, but the roads are narrow and there is a big central village car park nearby if you are nervous about space.
The only slight niggle was the mattress had a plastic sheet on it. Meaning it rustled and was horrible and hot in the night. I am all for mattress protectors, but this was a nasty one. If didn’t detract from our stay.
We ate at the winery one night. It wasn’t friendly like the rest of the village, service pretty slow, even although it was empty. Food was good.
Owner was very communicative in advance and on arrival. Great stay. Very much recommend.

Traditional accommodation

Lovely accommodation with a very comfy bed; small kitchen but adequate. Large balcony with great views across some of the village. Visit the Santa Irene winery and have a meal in the restaurant which also has great views. We also went to the Potamos tavern 1km away in Kambi which is a worthwhile visit. Make sure you top up with petrol as no petrol station in the village!

Not recommended

The extra bed we had for our kid was so hard, that if you slept on the floor there would be no difference.
No sound insulation at all. We could hear clearly what everyone around us was saying, and also when they were walking we could hear every step they were making.
No even close to what we've paid.

Traditional, Comfortable, clean

Rooms were lovely. Good size, perfect decor, clean place. Had everything you need including hairdryer and kettle. We enjoyed our tea out in the balcony with the beautiful view. Location was perfect, in the center of the village but still at a quite location.Beautiful view from the front and back door. Good price. Last but not least, very friendly owners, made us feel so welcome. We sure will be back

Quality family time

Only a short drive away from Nicosia and Larnaca, this has been an enjoyable family trip.
The accommodation is in traditional style with all key amenities including C/H, airconditioning and small kitchen.
While it is designed for self-catering, breakfast as well as lunch/dinner is available at the owner's restaurant "Ierambelos", located next to their winery "Santa Irene" (some really lovely wine on offer).
Its biggest plus are the owners. They are open and welcoming and will do their utmost to please you.
Activities: Wine tasting, trekking, exploring other small villlages and nearby monasteries while a trip to the coast is not too far away.
Recommended if you are looking for quality family time in a peaceful small village in the mountains.
