There was a wifi connection problem till the last day of our stay. Should have warned us before coming. Positive side, a kind welcome from staff, location is good and easy to access everywhere.

Not a place to go for a good nights sleep
The Sofia Boutique Hotel is in the centre of Kyrenia and as per the website description, located close to the old harbour. Our room was nicely decorated in pastel colours and the bed was comfortable. The room included a mini bar fridge and kettle. We received a nice welcome when we checked in and were helped upstairs with our suitcases (there is no lift).
All was well until we went to bed around 10.30pm. The hotel location is next to a busy narrow road and several bars. Our room was facing the narrow street. We experienced a constant parade of boy racers revving supercharged engines, shouting, honking horns and playing extremely loud music in their cars all night. It felt more like we were trying to sleep through a Mardi Gras than trying to relax in a quiet hotel. Even after the bars had closed, the procession of noise was still ongoing past 4am. We did not sleep a wink. This was with all windows and curtains closed and with the air conditioning switched on. We pointed out the issue when we checked out and the receptionist shrugged and said it can get a bit loud with the students.
We note the hotel web site tag line ‘Because in the end, a good night’s sleep is worth more than a bad bargain’. The narrative on Trip Advisor indicates ‘(the hotel is located) in a quiet place, but near the central tourist streets, shops, cafes and restaurants’. Both statements are misleading, traveller beware.
We have complained to the owners who admitted 'being central means we're close to nightlife and traffic which unfortunately can be noisy on certain nights...we do try to reflect the pros and cons fairly in our listing'. We could find not reflection or reference to the owners claim.
At the end of the day, we have paid good money to the owners on the understanding we would be able to sleep and rest during our stay. This is a basic requirement when booking any accommodation. We requested a refund which has not been forthcoming. We would like to suggest the owner to try to sleep in room 212 on a Saturday night to share our experience. You could not pay me enough to want to stay here again.

Lovely boutique hotel very close to the harbour. Rooms were very clean and tidy, staff were so helpful and did everything they could to make our stay perfect. Would highly recommend

A gem find in Kyrenia
A beautiful little boutique hotel in the heart of Kyrenia harbour area. The staff cannot do enough for us! Orman greeted us with all the information we needed for a wonderful stay. The pool is a very welcome area for cooling down as it the bar when we came back for a nightcap. Wonderful staff, fantastic location and rooms are perfect in size and so very clean! A gem!

Unhappy Habibullah
The hotel''s location is good, but the rooms are incredibly loud, and it''s hard to sleep at night. This noise is caused by spaces around windows. The phone didn’t work in the room we stayed in, and there was a standing wall 50 cm across the window. You should reach out to front desk staff via WhatsApp whenever they respond. No elevators, you’ll need to pack your own. The hotel''s streets are pretty narrow, and you''ve got to drop your car in a paid parking lot not too close.
Worst of all, the hotel reviews and messages that reach the level of harassment when they give a slightly low rating. Uploading an image. Gratuity kneel length. When the suitcase helps somebody, we don’t have them out. If you would have requested it from the front desk, your responses already reveal the quality of the business, the phone doesn’t work, you’re writing from WhatsApp, no responses. You’ll need to go find and pick up the bucket. A better business could be by stopping from messaging with the public instead of finding solutions to reviews
