simple, clean and friendly... more like a guest house than a hotel
room is small like a school dormitory. i guess it has been around 10 years without renovation. it is sufficient and clean. there is a desk, small table, chairs and a closet. the bathroom towels are worn out. there is just a bottle of hand soap. bring your own shampoo, tooth brush and paste.
i had a room facing a courtyard, it was quiet.
breakfast is sufficient, too. yogurt, bread, cold cut meat and cheese, cut vegetables, boiled eggs, juice and apples...
wifi works well.
overall, good value for the price as a guest house.

Pleasant stay
The rooms and bathrooms are quite small but have everything you need. The room we were given was at the front of the hotel and we found this very noisy due to the cobbled street outside and noisy people, the next morning we asked to move and were given another room within 30 minutes this was very nice at the back and very quiet. All the reception staff spoke English and were very obliging. Breakfast was good a table with juice, cereal, bread and cake etc and then a menu with a choice of cooked items, we decided to try the restaurant one evening and again was very impressed.

Family run little hotel with everything you need!
It´s only a few steps from the main Beroun square and it has everything you need.
I can only recommend it!!!

hotel verona mea, beroun
this is really more of of guesthouse with restaurant than a hotel, as reflected in very reasonable price structure.
there are only 11 rooms, spread over 2 floors ( 32 steps - no lift ).
the rooms are all cute, and can be described as compact or cramped, depending on your point of view...
they are decorated in slightly funky modern colours, but this somehow works well despite being part of a charming old house. many little details give a very characterful and welcoming feel.
bathrooms are very modern, and the funky colours extend to the towels from ikea - either ochre or amber, but all way too small.
suggestions would be to add foreign language channels to the t.v., and to add blackout curtains to allow guest to sleep late.
the breakfast was served in a cramped rooom off reception. it was tasty, but worked on the unusual format of selecting one option from about 10 set combos. coffee was served, and juice/breads etc were self service.
the couple who ran the hotel made you feel very welcome, and their charming place will be a big hit for people who enjoy this style of accommodation, and are working to a budget.
