Good appartment for a family holiday

We booked a family appartment in the Solitaire building. It was built in 2007 and all the equipment have not been upgraded since then. Therefore you can find an old-fashioned CRT TV set :) The appartment is spacious enough for a 2+2 family. One room has three comfortable beds. The second room has a sofa (not so comfortable for sleeping), table, chairs and kitchen with fridge, microwave, kettle, .... Wifi is free, fast and reliable. Breakfast is standard in terms of selection, you can find fresh fruits as well. We did not try the restaurant. In general, it was a very good base for everyday trips around Broumov.

Disgusting!!

Everything was awful. There were some bugs inside of bed!! Rooms arent clean. I found hairs on my sheets. No one can speak english! Restaurant was awful. I have never been here again! I called to reception and women closed the phone because she couldn’t speak english. She said that ‘sie kann spreche Deutsch’ but sie kann nicht spreche Deutsch!

Didn't get that far..

The reception hung up on me for just asking if they have air conditioning.
Then wouldn't pick up, for a '3 star' hotel that's crazy.
It appears there is no air conditioning, but to have been redirected twice and only have someone pick up once out of 10 calls to hang up is just ridiculous.

Shines a bit brighter in a very dull environment

As a start, I must express that this is off the beaten track. The city is depressed with many buildings not much more than empty ruins so the hotel shines brightly, being a revamped Manor House with the horse stables redesigned into smallish rooms. The design and landscape is well done with repairs to the water feature happening during our stay, which shows that they are intent on improvements. The room was adequate and had what was needed [no mini bar]. The bathroom again a modern renovation with everything that a tourist required. With the exception of my personal pet peeve - the plastic bottom of the shower - hate those. As we were in a large group, all in the Stables, hot water was challenged by everyone vying for the showers at the same time. Staggering this, solved the problem. Our two night stay was adequate and the staff did try their best. English was a hit and miss affair with the staff. Again this is not an area that sees many foreign tourists and has only the old Benedictine Monastery in town as a draw card. The greater area offered the best sandstone rock cities. Food was good with a definite bend to Health food. There is a health center on the property and they obviously catering predominantly for those clientele, not for hungry bikers. :=) And the local pub closest to the Hotel offered that best goulash soup I tasted on this trip. All in all, I would recommend a brief stay here if you were passing through.

A fine hotel in a wonderful region

The hotel has more buildings, two villas and a new depandance - we stayed in that. The room was ok, but a bit smallish and nothing special. My suspicion is that the rooms in the two villas are much better, especially in the Manor House. The cooking including the breakfast was good or very good and absolutely excellent in the Manor House. One great advantage is the wellness centre with the big and beautifully designed swimming pool. The disadvantage is that the price of this is not included in the price of the room - in all other hotels we have visited all over the world they give you free swimming in the pool.

Very good location
