Surrounded by a garden with fishing ponds, Hotel Helios is set 1 km from the centre of Lipova Lazne, and it offers guests free unlimited access to the newly renovated Helios wellness center with a heated pool, saunas and whirlpools.

My choice in Lipova (Jesenik area)
Have stayed at Helios three times and can not say enough about the service I got so far. One have to have in mind this is three stars property - but it is very good at it. Only the food is average - except trout I had that was simply delicious, breakfast has nice choice for a week so no problems in the kitchen. The sa area is smallish but great for relax after walking in the mountains, then there is playground outside that hosts some "small football" and other activities. Also there is a small "lake" next to the hotel and it is very cool to walk around in the early mornings.
Overall this is very good place to stay if not the best (yeah the sound isolation in the rooms could be better) while in Lipova and I am looking forward for my next visit.

As Expected....
Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a package.
The good:
The hotel is a reasonable size with ample parking. The rooms are spotless and well presented. Unless you sleep in sunglasses under a lead sheet, you will experience the traditional Czech issue of paper thin curtains - so at sunrise its as though a search light is pointing at your window.
This hotel caters well for kids in so much as safe environment, swings, slides, climbing frames, little bikes etc and it was good to see lots of kids having fun. However, I don't have kids so trying to go for a relaxing swim in the pool - just wasn't going to happen.
The small saunas (Finish, IR, Steam etc) were clean and enjoyable and despite only being open from 16:00 onwards, didn't seem to be too busy.
The location is good if you like to go walking in the mountains and, with a bus route outside, if you wander too far you can always get a bus back (assuming you make it to a road).
The flip side:
There is nothing else to do here. There is one pub opposite the hotel and nothing else within 2km++ in any direction.
The bar (39czk a beer) closes early and then its...... bedtime I guess (don't bother looking for something else to do - we've done that for you already).
As part of a package we had half board (breakfast and dinner included). Breakfast was pretty impressive with a buffet of both hot and cold and lashings of coffee. The dinner was Day 1) boiled pork, boiled rice, boiled potatoes, fried fish or those sweet dumplings. Day 2) grilled chicken, boiled rice, boiled potatoes, deep fried broccoli (?) - needless to say I was disappointed in the lack of taste and effort made and this really hit my opinion of the hotel - especially when I have been out walking for 5 hours and was very hungry and knowing there are no / 1 alternative to go to.
Better than some places I have been too but I did come home tired and hungry so... as expected.

Nice Spa - Mediocre food
I have stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in the mid-winter and I liked the property, especially the spa with saunas, pools etc. All areas were very clean and bright. What annoyed me was early closing time of the bar and reception. At 9AM the public areas were almost all deserted. Anyway, I recomment this property to couples or familes due to ideal location in the mountain area with plenty of things to do in the hotel and around.

Hezke zazemi, prumerna restaurace
Vyrazili jsme s rodinou do tohoto hotelu na prodlouzeny vikend. Dopredu jsme udelali online check in, vse probehlo tedy rychle. Prvni dojem z pokoje dobry, behem pobytu nam ale chybelo vice ulozneho prostoru a predevsim policky nebo vesaky v koupelne. Rucniky se daji odkladat pouze na topeni, ktere ale bylo vypnute, takze plavky si jen tak neususite. A co teprve rucniky, ktere si hoste maji nosit z pokoje na bazen… postele byly pohodlne, matrace tvrde, spalo se nam dobre, jen bohuzel zavesy propousti do pokoje dost svetla.
Wellness byl fajn, dve virivky a bazen, ovsem pro deti voda velmi studena. Omezena kapacita, ale vzdy jsme nasli vhodny termin. Bazen otevren od 10 a sauna od 16 hod. Dostali jsme zupany, ale do budovy wellness musite prejit venkem, coz v desti neni uplne pohodlne. Sauna hezka, ale jen jedna finska, infrasauna a parni lazen. Spolecna satna, do sauny se chodi pres bazen. Je moznost se ochladit venku na terase. Chybela nam voda nebo moznost koupit si piti. Bar vypadal opustene, ale mozna se dalo domluvit na recepci….
Detske hriste a hotelova zahrada paradni! Vyhodou je detske hriste v blízkosti zahradky restaurace a detsky koutek primo uvnitr restaurace.
Bohuzel restaurace uz tak skvela nebyla. Jidlo nebylo spatne, ale za ty ceny jsme cekali vic. Personal tezce nestihal, coz bylo videt predevsim u snidane. Nikdy drive se mi nestalo, ze by na nekolik minut u snidane doslo veskere pecivo…Podle vseho jeden cisnik na doplnovani a sbírání nadobi, proste na vse, takze neni divu, ze nestihal. Na jednu stranu mi ho bylo lito, na druhou stranu se casto stavalo, ze byl personal neprijemny. Snidane se podavaji az od 8 hodin, nabidka byla omezena, stejne tak misto k sezeni. potraviny nam prisly nekvalitni resp. ty nejlevnejsi, takze se snídani jsme spokojeni nebyli. Navic jeden kavovar na celou restauraci… Restaurace zavírala relativne brzy, to se moc casto nevidi, ze ve 21:30 je vsude ticho a tma…kladne hodnotíme moznost si vzit jidlo na pokoj.
Za nas to byl fajn vikend, ale vracet se nebudeme.

Byli jsme velmi mile překvapeni
I díky některým ne úplně kladným hodnocením jiných návštěvníků, co se týkalo přístupu personálu a úrovně kuchyně v restauraci, jsme byli velmi mile překvapeni. Personál na recepci, ve wellness centru i v restauraci byl vždy velmi milý, usměvavý a ochotný. Co se týká restaurace, hodnotíme jednoznačně pozitivně. Jídlo vždy velmi chutné i oku lahodící, nabídka jídel není zbytečně rozsáhlá, ale je dostačující. Snídaňový bufet s dostatečným výběrem. Obsluha na profesionální úrovni. Jediným nedostatkem je snad jen zbytečně brzká zavírací hodina restaurace. Rodiče uloží děti ke spánku a už pak nemají možnost si tu posedět po 22.hodině... Rádi se sem v budoucnu opět vrátíme!
